In another form, the method of controlling backpressure may include providing a backpressure control valve including an asymmetrical blade, and rotating the asymmetrical blade between a closed position and an open position. In still another form, the fuel cell system may include a fuel cell, a body that defines an asymmetrical oxidant passage, and a backpressure control valve mountable in the body.

    摘要: A cooling module for a battery pack assembly is disclosed. The cooling module includes a frame having a plurality of legs forming an opening through a central portion of the frame, at least one of the plurality of legs including a slot formed therethrough. A cooling fin is coupled to the frame. The cooling fin includes a corrugated plate interposed between a first plate and a second plate forming a plurality of fluid flow channels between the first plate and the second plate. The cooling modules are disposed in a stack having at least one battery cell disposed between adjacent cooling modules. The battery cell is in heat transfer communication with the cooling fin of at least one cooling module, wherein the cooling fin facilitates a transfer of heat energy between the battery cell and the flow channels formed in the cooling fin.

A surface mount device is electrically coupled to opposing plates in the stack, or opposing plates over a plurality of cells in the stack. The surface mount device includes a bonded contact and a spring contact to provide the electrical connection. A detector is positioned remote from the stack that receives the optical signals and converts them back to electrical signals indicative of the voltage.

    摘要: A fuel cell stack module that includes a fuel cell stack and an end unit that are part of a thermally integrated assembly. The module also includes a charge air cooler and a WVT unit integrated within the end unit. A cooling fluid is pumped through a line in the end unit and the fuel cell stack by a pump. The cooling fluid is pumped through the charge air cooler to reduce the temperature of the cathode inlet airflow sent to the fuel cell stack. The reduced temperature cathode inlet air from the charge air cooler is sent to the WVT unit where it is humidified. Cathode exhaust gas from the fuel cell stack can be sent to the WVT unit to provide the humidification to humidify the cathode inlet air. A by-pass valve provided within the end unit can be employed to by-pass the WVT unit during cold-starts.
