Crystalline modification of mixtures comprising (a) a nickel-quencher corresponding to [2,2′-thio-bis(4-t-octylphenolate)-n-butylamine Nickel (II)] and (b) a 2-hydroxy-4-alkyloxybenzophenone corresponding to 2-hydroxy-4-n-octyloxybenzophenone wherein it has two diffraction lines at angles 2{acute over (ø)}=6.291 and 2{acute over (ø)}=6.888 in the X-Ray diffraction spectrum from powders. The said crystalline modification can be used as a light stabilizer for agricultural films based on polyolefins or polyolefinic copolymers.

Process for the preparation of (omega-carbalkoxy-nor.alkyl) dialkylamines having a linear alkyl chain, comprising the steps of amination of allyl compounds in which at least an allyl carbon atom is a part of a cyclopropane ring which contains one or two carboxyl or carbalkoxy groups on the carbon atom which is adjacent to the allyl carbon, or is a part of a lactone ring, in the presence of catalysts consisting of triarylphosphine complexes of palladium, or trialkyl phosphite complexes of nickel, and the subsequent hydrogenation of the unsaturated amine thus obtained. By so doing, interesting linear amines are obtained, which contain carboxyl units or carbalkoxy units, said amines being useful as additives for the industry of synthetic fibres (viscosity stabilizers for polycaprolactam).

A process is disclosed for the synthesis of 4-allyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetraalkylpiperidinic derivatives by starting from the corresponding 2,2,6,6-tetraaLkyLpiperidinols and from an allyl halide, characterized in that the reaction is made to take place in the absence of water, and in the presence of a finely subdivided allyl-metal hydroxide and of small amounts of a phase-transfer catalyst. The products, which are thus obtained with yields higher than 90%, are useful a stabilizers for polymers or as intermediates for such products.

There is disclosed and claimed a process for preparing aryl- and heteroarylhexadienoic acids which is characterized in that an aryl- or heteroarylacetylene having the formula: R--C.tbd.CH, wherein R is an aryl or heteroaryl group, optionally substituted and having in the aggregate up to 20 carbon atoms, is reacted with 3-butenoic acid CH.sub.2 .dbd.CH--CH.sub.2 --COOH, in an alcoholic medium, at temperatures maintained between 50.degree. C. and 120.degree.
