摘要: A method for calculating a coagulation characteristic of a sample of blood, a blood fraction, or a control comprises generating an output signal indicative of coagulation of the sample, sampling the output signal at a sampling rate for a predetermined time to provide a plurality of sampled signal values, storing the sampled signal values, rectifying the stored sampled signal values to provide a plurality of envelope values, and storing the envelope values. The stored envelope values are examined in reverse time order to determine a slope of the envelope at each of the stored envelope values. All relative maxima in the stored envelope values are identified. A range of stored envelope values corresponding to each relative maximum is determined. The identified relative maxima are compared to locate an absolute maximum in the stored envelope values. The coagulation characteristic is then calculated from the stored envelope values within the predetermined range of envelope values corresponding to the absolute maximum.

摘要: A method and system for calculating daily weighted averages of glucose measurements (or derived quantities) with time-based weights are disclosed. The present invention computes an average daily glucose value using the time based weights based on only consecutive glucose measurements in the plurality of glucose measurements with acceptable time intervals that do not exceed a predefined maximum time interval. The invention further relates to a computer program for implementing the method for calculating daily weighted averages of spot monitoring glucose measurements (or derived quantities) with the time-based weights.

摘要: Embodiments of a testing method suitable for diabetic persons to optimize their administered insulin dosage comprise collecting one or more sampling sets of biomarker data, wherein each sampling set comprises a sufficient plurality of non-adverse sampling instances and wherein each sampling instance comprises an acceptable biomarker reading at a single point in time recorded upon compliance with adherence criteria, determining a biomarker sampling parameter from each sampling set, comparing the biomarker sampling parameter to a target biomarker range, calculating an insulin adjustment parameter associated with the biomarker sampling parameter if the biomarker sampling parameter falls outside the target biomarker range, adjusting the insulin dosage by the insulin adjustment parameter if the biomarker sampling parameter falls outside the target biomarker range and if the insulin dosage does not exceed maximum dosage, and exiting the testing method if the adjusted insulin dosage is optimized. The insulin dosage is optimized when one or more biomarker sampling parameters fall within a target biomarker range.

摘要: A system for recommending insulin bolus quantities to an insulin user includes a display unit and memory unit coupled to a control circuit with a user blood glucose target stored in the memory unit. The control circuit is programmed to receive the user's current blood glucose value, to determine and display via the display unit a recommended correction insulin bolus quantity if the current blood glucose value exceeds the blood glucose target, to compute a difference value as the current blood glucose value less the blood glucose target, and to produce a modified blood glucose target as a sum of the blood glucose target and the difference value for a lock-out time period if the difference value is positive. Additional correction insulin bolus quantities may be recommended during the lock-out time period if the user's current blood glucose value exceeds the modified blood glucose target.
