    Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided an access node for a radio access network. The access node comprises means for determining, in response to receiving a plurality of data packets associated with one or more radio bearers for scheduling to terminal devices, an over-the-air transmission mode of each radio bearer. The means are further configured to, in response to determining that the one or more radio bearers comprise one or more first explicit multi-unicast, Xcast, radio bearers using multicast and one or more second radio bearers using unicast, schedule the one or more radio bearers according to a first scheduling mechanism. The first scheduling mechanism prioritizes the one or more first Xcast radio bearers to maximize a system throughput.

    Abstract: A PCell for a UE participates in a first phase to add a PSCell to a set of cells including the PCell to be used by the UE for a MCHO, comprising determining that the UE is to participate in the MCHO, and sending indications of at least resources for selected ones of multiple candidate cells toward the UE for use for the MCHO. The PCell participates in a second phase to add the PSCell to the set, comprising determining by the PCell which of the selected multiple cells has been accessed by the UE as the PSCell. The PCell participates in a swap from being the PSCell for the UE to becoming a current PSCell for the UE, wherein the PSCell is swapped from the PSCell to being a current PCell for the UE. The current PSCell participates in a release of a connection to the UE.

    Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a method for fast activation of multi-connectivity utilizing uplink signals. According to an example embodiment, a method includes: transmitting, by a user equipment, at least one uplink signal to a plurality of network nodes of a wireless network based at least on the user equipment being in a first radio resource control state such that the user equipment maintains connectivity with one of the network nodes; receiving at least one connection message including a command to connect to at least two of the network nodes for communication, wherein the command is based at least on measurements extracted from the at least one uplink signal; in response to the at least one connection message, changing from the first radio resource control state to a second radio resource control state; and transmitting data utilizing multiple communication links via the at least two network nodes.
