    Abstract: To better support beamforming in MIMO systems such as 5G, a first match is determined between a first transmit (TX) beam group of a radio network and a first receive (RX) beam group of a user equipment (UE); and also a second match is determined between a second TX beam group of the radio network and a second RX beam group of the UE. For example these matches can come from the UE's beam report with best match information. The network configures the UE with at least a first discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration associated with the first RX beam group and with a second DRX configuration associated with the second RX beam group. In this case the first and second DRX configurations are active simultaneously for the UE, and each said beam group comprises at least one antenna or antenna port.

    Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate assumptions regarding physical or electrical characteristics of the systems. For example, fifth generation (5G) or similar communication systems may benefit from appropriate antenna co-location and receiver assumptions. A method can include receiving an indication of a set of co-location rules to apply from at least three sets of co-location rules. The method can also include applying the indicated set of co-location rules.

    Abstract: A search is performed by a UE for cells in a wireless communication system, comprising: searching, in a frequency band, for a block that comprises a SS; determining, in response to finding the SS within the block, whether there is an indication in the block of a frequency range in which no remaining system information will be found; and continuing, in response to the indication being in the block, to search for cells in frequencies after the particular frequency. A network element determines that no remaining system information is to be transmitted in a block and in subsequent block(s) to be transmitted over a frequency band, and transmits the block with a SS used for UEs to search for cells, and with indication of a frequency range, from a current frequency corresponding to the transmitted block and in the frequency band, over which no remaining system information will be found.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically adapting scheduling parameter(s) to achieve power savings. A user equipment may be configured with one or more offsets between scheduled PDCCH and PDSCH transmissions. The user equipment may receive from a network an indication to dynamically change these offsets. If the user equipment sleeps through a first transmission of this indication, upon next receiving the indication the user equipment may update, for example, the offset in a time domain resource allocation table. The indication to dynamically change an offset may be an indication of an offset including fewer slots. A change to the offset, with which downlink transmission is expected by the user equipment, may be disabled. A network node may be configured to transmit downlink traffic to the user equipment according to a configured offset and/or according to an offset the network node indicated to the user equipment.

    Abstract: According to an example embodiment, a method may include determining, by a user equipment in a wireless network, a starting physical resource block of a common physical resource block grid that is associated with a wideband channel, wherein a plurality of bandwidth parts are provided within the common physical resource block grid, each bandwidth part having a bandwidth that is less than the bandwidth of the wideband channel; determining, by the user equipment, a wideband channel guard band for the wideband channel, the wideband channel guard band provided between a lowest frequency of the wideband channel and a first usable physical resource block of the common physical resource block grid; and, determining, by the user equipment for at least one bandwidth part of the plurality of bandwidth parts, a bandwidth part-specific physical resource block grid that is a subset of the common physical resource block grid.
