摘要: An apparatus comprises a first member for holding a base part of a first connector and a sealing plug of a second connector, a second member for holding a sealing plug of the first connector and a base part of the second connector, and a stopper. The sealing plug of the first connector and the base part of the second connector are separated from the base part of the first connector and the sealing plug of the second connector respectively. The base part of the second connector and the base part of the first connector are threadedly fastened to each other, and the stopper stops the transfer of the rotation of the first and second gears to the sealing plug of the first connector and the base part of the second connector during the second rotation of the handle.

摘要: A sample transfer apparatus atomizer connected via tube to a sample receiver for micro-sampling. The sample receiver has a funnel-shaped upward opening and is connected to the tube at the base of the funnel. A control unit controls the apparatus to make sure that the sample injected into the sample receiver will be so positioned in the tube that a quantity of solvent is positioned nearer to the vaporizer than the sample, and preferably another quantity of solvent is positioned nearer to the side of the sample receiver relative to the sample. The presence of solvent in the tube positioned nearer to the vaporizer than the sample delays the sample being sucked by the vaporizer, this preventing interruption of the sample flow in the tube and making the atomic absorption waveform more stable.

摘要: Doped thin films of GaAs are chemically vapor deposited by depositing a high resistant buffer layer of GaAs on a GaAs substrate by gaseous reaction of a mixture of arsine gas and trimethylgallium in the gas phase over the substrate while the temperature of the substrate is maintained within the range of 600.degree.-700.degree. C., stopping the supply of trimethylgallium to the gas mixture undergoing reaction and increasing the temperature of the substrate to within the range of 700.degree.-800.degree. C., and then resuming the supply of trimethylgallium to and supplying hydrogen sulfide to the gas phase over the substrate at the stated temperature, thereby depositing a doped GaAs layer over the buffer layer on the substrate having a distribution of carrier density of less than 5%.

摘要: An optical fiber includes a rare-earth element-added core for serving as a gain medium, and a cladding formed on a periphery of the core. Pump light propagated through the cladding is coupled into the core. The cladding is in an undulation shape in the longitudinal direction of the cladding. The undulation shape of the cladding is formed according to a grating period at which the pump light is totally reflected and propagated in the cladding. The core includes an undulation shape in a longitudinal direction of the core. The cladding includes an undulating inner cladding, and an outer cladding provided on a periphery of the inner cladding. The core and/or the cladding is circular or abnormally circular in its transverse cross section.
