Abstract: Provided is a video reception method performed by a video reception apparatus including a display. The video reception method includes: receiving a reception signal multiplexed from a video signal and an audio signal; obtaining the video signal and first transfer characteristics information by demultiplexing the reception signal, the first transfer characteristics information being information for specifying, per random access unit, a transfer function corresponding to a luminance dynamic range of the video signal; obtaining video data by decoding the video signal obtained; and displaying the video data while controlling a luminance dynamic range of the display per random access unit according to the first transfer characteristics information.

Abstract: A transmitting method includes: inputting, per unit time, a plurality of transfer packets less than or equal to a predetermined number; and transmitting, per the unit time, the plurality of transfer packets that have been input, in a state where definitions compliant with a receiving buffer model are satisfied. Each of the plurality of transfer packets includes a variable-length packet header and a variable-length payload. The definitions compliant with the receiving buffer model are predetermined for guaranteeing a buffering operation of a receiving device, and specify converting a first packet into a second packet and outputting the second packet from a buffer of the receiving device at a predetermined extraction rate. The first packet is included in the transfer packets received and includes a variable-length packet header and a variable-length payload. The second packet has a fixed-length packet header that is extended.

The generating includes sequentially placing the plurality of first transfer units into the plurality of frames, and in the placing, even when a data size of a current first transfer unit to be processed is smaller than a remaining capacity of a current frame to be processed, the current first transfer unit is placed into a next frame.

Abstract: A reception apparatus including a decoding apparatus and a demultiplexing apparatus for identifying a packet with clock information. The decoding apparatus receives a transfer frame, which includes one or more first transfer units obtained by multiplexing contents. A decoder in the decoding apparatus acquires the first transfer units by decoding the transfer frame, and outputs the first transfer units to the demultiplexing apparatus. The demultiplexing apparatus acquires content by demultiplexing the first transfer units. Additionally, a heading first transfer unit, which is positioned at a head within the transfer frame, contains reference clock information. The decoder generates information for identifying the heading first transfer unit and outputs the information to the demultiplexing apparatus.
