Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for optimizing delivery of a small amount of mobile originated (MO) or mobile terminated (MT) data.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a paging message that includes a secured UE identifier calculated based on a security configuration negotiated between the UE and a trusted source, e.g., a mobility management entity (MME) of the core network. The UE may determine whether the paging message is received from the trusted source or an untrusted source based on the secured UE identifier. The UE may transmit a connection request message based on the determination that the paging message is received from a trusted source.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE), may receive a configuration of a wake-up signal periodicity and perform discontinuous monitoring for a plurality of wake-up signals based at least in part on the wake-up signal periodicity. In some cases, the UE may perform a radio resource management (RRM) measurement according to an RRM measurement periodicity that corresponds to the wake-up signal periodicity. In such cases, the UE may monitor for paging messages to receive paging information, or updates to system information, during one or more wake-up signal occasions that correspond to the RRM measurement periodicity. For instance, paging information may be received while the UE is performing RRM measurements, where paging message may be monitored for based on the wake-up signal periodicity.
Abstract:
A method for improving data throughput on a subscription includes: filtering data traffic throughput on a first subscription; comparing the filtered data traffic throughput to a threshold data rate; determining if the filtered data traffic throughput is greater than a threshold data rate value; and in response to a determination that the filtered data traffic throughput is equal to or less than the threshold data rate value, determining whether a tune away (TA) mode different than a first TA mode increases data traffic throughput on the first subscription.
Abstract:
The present patent application improves DARP by allowing multiple users on one time slot (MUROS). It comprises means and instructions for sharing signals on a single channel, comprising setting up a new connection, allocating a new time slot if there is an unused time slot on a channel frequency, selecting an used time slot for the new connection to share with an existing connection if there is not an unused time slot on the channel frequency, and selecting a different training sequence code for the new connection if the used time slot on the channel frequency has been selected for the new connection to share with an existing connection.
Abstract:
The present patent application improves DARP by allowing multiple users on one time slot (MUROS). It comprises means and instructions for signaling training sequence set information to a remote station, comprising receiving signaling from a remote station indicating if a new set of training sequences is supported, and using a channel description to signal the training sequence set to be used by the remote station for a communication channel being established. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
Access terminals are adapted to receive and transmit data during one or more frames in a multiframe. Power measurements for a neighboring cell can be scheduled during one or more frames not intended for power measurements. In some examples, the one or more frames not intended for power measurements can include an Idle frame and/or a Packet Timing Advance Control Channel (PTCCH) frame in a 52-frame multiframe structure, as well as an Idle frame and/or a Slow Associated Control Channel (SACCH) frame in a 26-frame multiframe structure. Some access terminals may be adapted for facilitating multiple subscriptions, and may operate at least substantially simultaneously in a Connected mode subscription and an Idle mode subscription. In such instances, a neighboring cell for which power measurements are performed may be associated with the Connected mode subscription and/or the Idle mode subscription. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a user equipment (UE) and a method of wireless communication using the UE that includes a first transceiver and a second transceiver. The method includes determining that the first transceiver is scheduled to communicate using a first transmission simultaneous to the second transceiver being scheduled to communicate using a second transmission, and altering an operation of at least one of the first and second transceivers to mitigate battery voltage droop due to simultaneous transmissions of the transceivers. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods are disclosed to provide for a multi-SIM wireless user equipment configured for block-level, or slot-level tune-away operations enabling simultaneous communication with a plurality of channels. The first and second channels may correspond to different RANs, each of which the user equipment may subscribe to as corresponding to information in a plurality of SIMs at the user equipment. In other examples, the first and second channels may correspond to different cells within a single RAN. In either case, the tune-away operations disclosed provide for reduced data loss at the first channel and in some examples improved communication performance at the second channel. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
A method for receiving cell broadcast messages is described. The method includes communicating with a first cell. The method also includes switching to communicating with a second cell. A cell broadcast channel is read after switching cells. The method further includes switching from a dedicated mode to a packet idle mode. The cell broadcast channel is reread once after switching from a dedicated mode to a packet idle mode. Other aspects, embodiments and features are also claimed and described.
