Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for wireless communication are provided. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may obtain a gain value based on a difference between an reference signal receive power (RSRP) value of a first antenna and an RSRP value of a second antenna, where the first antenna may be located on an exterior of the UE and the second antenna may be located within an interior of the UE. Further, in some aspects, the UE may obtain an antenna gain value based at least on a random access channel (RACH) power value and a reference signal receive quality (RSRQ) offset value. Additionally, in some aspects, the UE may obtain the antenna gain value based on one of a matching entry in a memory log or a minimum of a maximum antenna gain value or an aggregation of a RACH gain value and an RSRQ offset value.

The at least one processor may be further configured to determine a quality parameter associated with the communication using the first RAT. The at least one processor may be further configured to apply, based on the quality parameter, an offset to the power parameter to form a modified power parameter. The at least one processor may be further configured to transmit a measurement report including the modified power parameter. The apparatus may be a wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE) and, more specifically, a high gain UE.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein to dynamically control a number of hybrid automatic repeat requests (HARQ) transmissions based at least in part on flow characteristics of a data flow. Data included in a transport block may be grouped into one or more data flows based on a variety of factors. A set of performance benchmarks may be associated with each data flow. Flow characteristics for each data flow may be measured. A network entity may determine a number of HARQ transmissions to be transmitted during a HARQ procedure based on measured flow characteristics satisfying the performance benchmarks. For example, if a performance benchmark is not satisfied by its associated flow characteristic, the network entity may request additional HARQ transmissions during the HARQ procedure.
