摘要: A method and system for the transmission of digital data (210) over existing analog radio frequencies (230) is presented, wherein the digital data may include audio data, visual data or audio-visual data for presentation either with analog broadcast data or at a selectable time. The digital data may be transmitted over a plurality of sub-channels that have varying degrees or reliability (250). A “quality-of-service” process manages the transmission of digital data over various sub-channels based on the reliability of the sub-channel, the amount of digital data and the type of digital data to be transmitted. The digital data may further be encrypted and authenticated.

摘要: Techniques are described herein to dynamically control a number of hybrid automatic repeat requests (HARQ) transmissions based at least in part on flow characteristics of a data flow. Data included in a transport block may be grouped into one or more data flows based on a variety of factors. A set of performance benchmarks may be associated with each data flow. Flow characteristics for each data flow may be measured. A network entity may determine a number of HARQ transmissions to be transmitted during a HARQ procedure based on measured flow characteristics satisfying the performance benchmarks. For example, if a performance benchmark is not satisfied by its associated flow characteristic, the network entity may request additional HARQ transmissions during the HARQ procedure.

摘要: An apparatus and method is presented for network video management and recording of video signals and video analytics generated by a network of IP-enabled cameras. A set of IP cameras are connected in a LAN to a network video recorder further connected by LAN or WAN to a set of client stations. The client station operates a hybrid program including a web-browser and a native application operating on a computer. The network video recorder operates a media recorder to store video streams from the IP cameras into a media database and further operates a relational database for storing camera configuration data, device drivers, event information and alarms. The network video recorder includes a zero configuration networking discovery service for automatically detecting and downloading default configurations to the cameras. Client stations can stream video directly from IP cameras, receive recorded video streams and query the relational database for cameras and events.

The second service provider generates a second broadcast multiplex, including the plurality of second services, and broadcasts the second broadcast multiplex on a second broadcast channel allocated to the second service provider.

摘要: A scheduler of video processes to be run on a cluster of physical machines. The scheduler splits video content into a plurality of video sequences based on at least one of a scene cut detection, a minimum duration, or a maximum duration. The video sequences are to be encoded on Operating-System-Level virtual environments in parallel. The scheduler also calculates, for each video sequence, based at least in part on the video sequence and a target coding time of the video content, a target computing capacity of an Operating-System-Level virtual environment to code the video sequence. The scheduler may also create, for each video sequence, an Operating-System-Level virtual environment having the target computing capacity to be instantiated on a physical machine in the cluster of physical machines.

摘要: A method and a system for enabling delivery of at least part of a digital rights management (DRM) protected segmented content item to a content processing device is described wherein segmented content item is associated with a manifest file, comprising at least a first segment identifier associated with a first segment being encrypted on the basis a first key; and, a second segment identifier associated with a different, second, segment being encrypted on the basis of a second key; said manifest file further comprising key information for enabling decryption of at least one of said first and second encrypted segments. Said method may comprise: a secure module, preferably a DRM module, in said content processing device requesting a DRM server access to at least part of said segmented content item; and, providing said secure module access to at least part of said key information, if said content access request is granted by said DRM server.

When the application control type written in the application control descriptor is 3, the receiving device acquires application control data from a server, and, for example, acquires and starts a new information service application in accordance with the segment data forming the application control data. When an external device is designated as the command destination device, the receiving device generates a command for the external device, and outputs the command to the external device. In accordance with the command from the receiving device, the external device, for example, acquires and starts the new information service application. This disclosure can be applied in a case where the receiving device is controlled from the broadcasting side.
