摘要： A circuit breaker operating handle formed from a plastic composition includes a handle access post and a curvilinear handle skirt. A pair of opposedly positioned detent members are integrally-formed on the surface of the handle skirt opposite the handle access post. The detents correspondingly engage the top planar surface of a U-shaped handle yoke which interfaces with the circuit breaker operating mechanism. The circuit breaker operating handle is robotically down-loaded onto the handle operating yoke prior to attachment between the handle yoke and the circuit breaker operating mechanism.

摘要： A molded case circuit breaker movable contact arm or carrier electrically connects with the circuit breaker trip unit or load terminal without requiring a flexible electrical conducting braid. The contact carrier is pivotally arranged within a contact carrier support to which the trip unit or load terminal lug is attached. The contact carrier pivot pin is supported on a pair of parallel posts extending from the contact carrier and a spring clip is positioned around the parallel posts and the pivoting end of the contact carrier to promote good electric transport without interfering with the rotational movement of the contact carrier.

摘要： A handle interlock arrangement is attached to the top surface of a manually operable circuit breaker operating handle to prevent the handle from being locked in its "OFF" position when the circuit breaker contacts are actually in their closed condition. A handle cover is hingeably attached to the circuit breaker cover and includes a pair of apertures arranged through the opposite sidewalls of the cover. The location of the apertures relative to the circuit breaker operating handle prevents the insertion of a padlock through the apertures when the circuit breaker operating handle is in its "ON" position.

摘要： An electronically driven trip actuator for multipole industrial rated molded case circuit breakers is installed within a common housing with the circuit breaker operating mechanism. The trip actuator consists of a mechanical actuator cooperatively connected with a magnetic latch. The magentic latch arrangement holds the trip actuator against an actuating spring bias. Upon receiving an appropriate signal response, the magnetic latch releases, allowing the mechanical actuator to move into contact with the circuit breaker latch under the influence of the actuator spring. The arrangement of the mechanical actuator and actuator spring provides a low latching force to the magnetic latch, while providing a large trip force to the circuit breaker latch.

摘要： Molded case circuit breakers connected to two different sources of power within an industrial application are interlocked to prevent one circuit breaker from being turned on while the other circuit breaker is already on. The circuit breakers include a molded plastic crossbar arranged for rotation within the circuit breaker enclosure. The interlock arrangement consists of a pivoted bell crank assembly including a pair of pivotally mounted insulative posts on either end of the bell crank. A corresponding cam integrally formed on the circuit breaker crossbar is in interference with one of the upstanding posts when the circuit breaker is in the "OFF" position and is out of interference with the upstanding post when the circuit breaker is in its "ON" condition.

摘要： A circuit breaker operating mechanism for separating a pair of electrical contacts within an electrical circuit breaker includes a lower link operatively connected to one of the electrical contacts. An upper link includes first and second legs extending from a central portion. The first leg is pivotally secured to the lower link, and the second leg includes a cam surface formed thereon. A roller is in intimate contact with the cam surface, and the cam surface is configured such that movement of the upper link relative to the roller causes the upper link to pivot about the central portion. Pivoting of the upper link about the central portion moves the lower link causing the second contact to move away from the first contact. An operating spring is configured to provide a force for separating the electrical contacts when the operating mechanism is tripped. An operating handle includes a void disposed therein, and an end of the spring is secured to the operating handle within the void.

摘要： A draw out interlock mechanism comprises a draw out trip arm pivotally attached in a draw out circuit breaker and an interlock activating assembly attached to a the draw out circuit breaker. The draw out trip arm comprises a first extension on a first end and a second extension on a second end. The first extension is positioned to interact with a trip latch of the operating mechanism. The interlock activating assembly comprises an extended arm and a camming arm, which are pivotally attached to a pin supported by a mounting bracket attached to the draw out circuit breaker. The extended arm extends through an aperture in the draw out circuit breaker with an end thereof proximate to the second extension of the draw out trip arm. The camming arm is adapted to interact with a camming surface attached to the draw out circuit breaker compartment such that when the draw out circuit breaker is inserted into the compartment, the camming arm and the extended arm rotate independently clockwise, the extended arm interacting with the draw out trip arm causing the draw out trip arm to rotate in counterclockwise, which in turn causes the first extension of the draw out trip arm to interact with the trip latch causing the draw out circuit breaker to trip, opening the contacts in the draw out circuit breaker.
