Abstract:
A process for hydrodealkylating a hydrocarbon stream comprising (a) contacting the hydrocarbon stream with a hydroprocessing catalyst in a hydroprocessing reactor in the presence of hydrogen to yield a hydrocarbon product, wherein the hydrocarbon stream contains C9+ aromatic hydrocarbons; and (b) recovering a treated hydrocarbon stream from the hydrocarbon product, wherein the treated hydrocarbon stream comprises C9+ aromatic hydrocarbons, wherein an amount of C9+ aromatic hydrocarbons in the treated hydrocarbon stream is less than an amount of C9+ aromatic hydrocarbons in the hydrocarbon stream due to hydrodealkylating of at least a portion of C9+ aromatic hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon stream during the step (a) of contacting.

The integrated process allows for operation with a hydroprocessing reactor which provides simultaneous hydrogenation, dechlorination, and hydrocracking of components of a hydrocarbon stream to specifications which meet steam cracker requirements.
Abstract:
A process for producing C6 to C8 aromatics and optionally light gas olefins from crude oil and/or pyrolysis oil is disclosed. The process can include hydroprocessing a first stream containing hydrocarbons from the crude oil and/or pyrolysis oil to obtain a second stream containing saturated hydrocarbons having boiling point less than 350° C., separating the second stream to obtain a third stream containing hydrocarbons having boiling point less than 70° C., a fourth stream containing hydrocarbons having boiling point 70° C. to 140° C., and a fifth stream containing hydrocarbons having boiling point greater than 140° C., recycling at least a portion of the fifth stream to the hydroprocessing step, reforming the fourth stream to obtain a sixth stream containing C6 to C8 aromatics, and optionally cracking the third stream to obtain light gas olefins.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for processing mixed plastic waste may include one or more reactive extruders to initially dechlorinate and depolymerize the mixed plastic waste and a catalytic reactive distillation column to further process the dechlorinated, depolymerized mixed plastic waste. Depolymerization of the mixed plastic waste through one or more of the disclosed systems and methods produces and enhances the yield of at least a naphtha blend stock.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for processing plastic derived pyrolysis oil are disclosed. A plastic derived pyrolysis oil and/or plastic are processed in a catalytic cracking unit and/or a thermal cracking unit under reaction conditions sufficient to produce a gaseous stream comprising propylene and a liquid stream. The liquid stream is further processed to produce additional propylene.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for processing a plastic are disclosed. The system includes a feeding device in fluid communication with a cracking unit. A feed stream comprising a plastic is depolymerized in the feeding device at a depolymerization temperature to produce a hydrocarbonaceous wax stream. The hydrocarbonaceous wax stream is then cracked in the cracking unit. The cracking is conducted at a cracking temperature that is lower than, or the same as the depolymerization temperature.
Abstract:
A process for processing mixed plastics comprising simultaneous pyrolysis and dechlorination of the mixed plastics, the process comprising contacting the mixed plastics with a zeolitic catalyst in a pyrolysis unit to produce a hydrocarbon product comprising a gas phase and a liquid phase; and separating the hydrocarbon product into a hydrocarbon gas stream and a hydrocarbon liquid stream, wherein the hydrocarbon gas stream comprises at least a portion of the gas phase of the hydrocarbon product, wherein the hydrocarbon liquid stream comprises at least a portion of the liquid phase of the hydrocarbon product, wherein the hydrocarbon liquid stream comprises one or more chloride compounds in an amount of less than about 100 ppmw chloride, based on the total weight of the hydrocarbon liquid stream, and wherein the hydrocarbon liquid stream is characterized by a viscosity of less than about 400 cP at a temperature of 300° C.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an integrated process to convert crude oil into petrochemical products comprising crude oil distillation, aromatic ring opening, and olefins synthesis, which process comprises subjecting a hydrocarbon feed to aromatic ring opening to produce LPG and subjecting the LPG produced in the integrated process to olefins synthesis. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a process installation to convert crude oil into petrochemical products comprising a crude distillation unit comprising an inlet for crude oil and at least one outlet for kerosene and/or gasoil; an aromatic ring opening unit comprising an inlet for a hydrocarbon feed to aromatic ring opening and an outlet for LPG; and a unit for the olefins synthesis comprising an inlet for LPG produced by the integrated petrochemical process installation and an outlet for olefins. The hydrocarbon feed subjected to aromatic ring opening comprises kerosene and/or gasoil produced by crude oil distillation in the process; and refinery unit-derived middle-distillate produced in the process. The process and the process installation of the present invention have an increased production of petrochemicals at the expense of the production of fuels and an improved propylene yield.
