    Abstract: A systems and method for production of acetylene by pyrolysing a feedstock through combustion products are disclosed. The system comprises: a combustion chamber having a chamber structure including sidewalls; a first stage having one or more first inlets, the one or more first inlets having one or more first inlet directions incident to respective areas of the sidewalls at one or more first inlet angles, the one or more first inlets configured to provide fluid for combustion in the combustion chamber, the first stage producing one or more of an axial jet and a radial jet within the combustion chamber; a second stage having one or more second inlets, the one or more second inlets having one or more second inlet directions incident to respective areas of the sidewalls at one or more second inlet angles, the one or more second inlets configured to provide fluid for combustion in the combustion chamber, the second stage producing a radial jet within the combustion chamber; and a process feed for providing a feedstock acted upon by the combustion within the combustion chamber, wherein a firing rate of about 30 MMBtu/h to about 1000 MMBtu/h is exhibited in the combustion chamber.

    Abstract: A methane conversion process for producing C2+ hydrocarbons comprising (a) introducing a reactant mixture comprising methane (>20 mol %) and an inert compound to a reaction unit to produce a reactor effluent stream comprising C2+ hydrocarbons, methane, the inert compound, and water and/or carbon dioxide; (b) removing at least a portion of the water and/or at least a portion of the carbon dioxide from the reactor effluent stream to produce a demethanizer feed stream; (c) feeding at least a portion of the demethanizer feed stream to a demethanizer unit to produce two or more vapor streams (methane rich stream and inert rich stream), and at least one liquid stream (C2+ hydrocarbons); (d) withdrawing at least a portion of the inert rich stream as a purge stream; (e) recycling any remaining portion of the inert rich stream to the reaction unit; and (f) recycling the methane rich stream to the reaction unit.

    Abstract: A method for producing ethylene and methanol comprising contacting fuel gas and oxidant gas to produce combustion product; contacting hydrocarbons and combustion product to produce pyrolysis product comprising unconverted hydrocarbons, acetylene, ethylene, CO, H2, H2O, CO2; separating pyrolysis product into CO2 stream and CO2 free product comprising unconverted hydrocarbons, acetylene, ethylene, CO, H2; contacting a first portion of CO2 free product with aprotic polar solvent to produce acetylene solution and first gas stream comprising unconverted hydrocarbons, ethylene, CO, H2; contacting acetylene solution with a second portion of CO2 free product to produce hydrogenation product comprising aprotic polar solvent, unconverted hydrocarbons, ethylene, CO, H2; separating hydrogenation product into aprotic polar solvent stream and second gas stream comprising unconverted hydrocarbons, ethylene, CO, H2; separating second gas stream into ethylene stream and third gas stream comprising unconverted hydrocarbons, CO, H2; and introducing first and/or third gas streams to a reactor to produce methanol.
