Abstract: A rectangular secondary battery includes a rectangular casing that contains an electrode body, a sealing plate that seals an opening of the rectangular casing, a first positive electrode tab group that is composed of a plurality of positive electrode tabs, a positive electrode terminal that is attached to the sealing plate, a second positive electrode current collector that constitutes a positive electrode current collector member that is electrically connected to the first positive electrode tab group and the positive electrode terminal, and a second insulator. The second insulator includes a base portion that is disposed between the sealing plate and the second positive electrode current collector. The first positive electrode tab group is bent and connected to the second positive electrode current collector, the region being disposed along the sealing plate. A first wall portion is disposed between the first positive electrode tab group and the rectangular casing.

Abstract: Provided are a secondary battery and a battery pack including the secondary battery. A sealing plate has a positive electrode terminal attachment hole. A positive electrode terminal penetrates the positive electrode terminal attachment hole. An external conductive member is connected to a portion of the positive electrode terminal located on the battery outer side with respect to the sealing plate. The conduction path between a positive electrode plate and the positive electrode terminal is provided with a current interrupting mechanism. A first insulating member made of resin is disposed between the sealing plate and the positive electrode terminal. A second insulating member having higher thermal resistance than the first insulating member is disposed between the external conductive member and the sealing plate.

Abstract: A secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly including a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate; an exterior housing that has an opening and houses the electrode assembly; and a sealing plate (2) that seals the opening. The exterior housing and the sealing plate (2) form a battery case. A deformable member (19) that deforms when the pressure inside the battery case reaches a prescribed value or higher and a gas release valve (18) that breaks when the pressure inside the battery case reaches a prescribed value or higher to release gas inside the battery case to the outside of the battery case are provided in the sealing plate (2). A metallic reinforcing member (30) is connected to the inner surface of the sealing plate (2).

Abstract: A conductive member (61) is disposed near a side of the sealing plate (2) facing the inside of a battery with a first insulating member (10) disposed therebetween. The conductive member (61) has a conductive-member opening portion (61f) at a side facing the electrode assembly. An inserting portion (7b) of a positive electrode terminal (7) is inserted through a third terminal-receiving hole (61c) in the conductive member (61) and connected to the conductive member (61). The conductive-member opening portion (61f) of the conductive member (61) is sealed by a deformation plate (62), and the deformation plate (62) is connected to a first positive-electrode current collector (6a), which is electrically connected to positive electrode plates. The conductive member (61) includes a pressing projection (61e) that projects toward the first insulating member (10) from a portion thereof that faces the first insulating member (10).

Abstract: A conductive member is disposed on a side of the sealing plate adjacent to an electrode assembly with a first insulating member disposed therebetween. The conductive member has a conductive-member opening portion. The conductive-member opening portion of the conductive member is sealed by a deformation plate. The deformation plate is connected to a first positive-electrode current collector, which is electrically connected to positive electrode plates. A second insulating member is disposed between the deformation plate and the first positive-electrode current collector. Fixing projections and displacement prevention projections are provided on a surface of the second insulating member. The second insulating member is fixed to the first positive-electrode current collector such that the fixing projections are disposed in fixing holes in the first positive-electrode current collector. The displacement prevention projections on the second insulating member are disposed in displacement prevention holes in the first positive-electrode current collector.
