Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments herein disclose methods and systems for providing services efficiently in a wireless communication network, following a disaster condition. According to various embodiments, a method performed by a user equipment (UE) connected to at least one public land mobile network (PLMN), the method comprising: identifying that a disaster condition is applied to the at least one PMLN; determining one or more PLMN among at least one available PLMN, and one or more registration type supported by the determined one or more PLMN, wherein the one or more registration type include information on a normal registration or information on a disaster roaming registration; and triggering a registration procedure based on the determined one or more registration type.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method for handling communication in a wireless network by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving a non-access stratum (NAS) message indicating that the UE is not permitted to access a first public land mobile network (PLMN) over a satellite communication along with geographical indication or a timer indication from the first PLMN. Further, the method includes determining a geographical area based on the received geographical indication or a timer value based on the timer indication. Further, the method includes starting a timer with the timer value. Further, the method includes determining that the UE is not allowed to access the first PLMN in the determined geographical area or the expiry of the timer. Further, the method includes performing a PLMN selection and registration procedure on a second PLMN based on the determination.

In an embodiment, when MS (100) is registered for the disaster roaming service, the method includes selecting a higher priority PLMN in a priority order when the higher priority PLMN is available in the network and other non-forbidden PLMN when the higher priority PLMN is unavailable in the network, and registering the MS to receive the service in the network on one of the selected higher priority PLMN, and the selected other non-forbidden PLMN. In another embodiment, when the MS is not registered for the disaster roaming service, the method includes selecting a higher priority PLMN in a priority order when the higher priority PLMN is available in network, and registering the MS on the selected higher priority PLMN to receive the service in network.

Abstract: An example provides a method for selecting a cell by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, and the method may include receiving first configuration information for early measurement to be performed while the UE is in an idle state or an inactive state. The method may include identifying, based on the first configuration information, a plurality of candidate cells for the early measurement among neighboring cells of the UE. The method may include receiving, from each candidate cell of the plurality of candidate cells, second configuration information including at least one of bandwidth support information, high power user equipment (HPUE) support information or relaxed measurement support information. And the method may include selecting a cell by prioritizing the plurality of candidate cells, based on a signal strength of said each candidate cell and the second configuration information.
