The present disclosure provides a method for operating an apparatus for supporting communication of a terminal that dually accesses a first radio access technology (RAT) communication system and a second RAT communication system, the method comprising the operations of: receiving from the terminal a session generation request message for transmitting traffic; determining a target communication system that is to generate a data path with respect to the traffic from the first RAT communication system and the second RAT communication system; configuring the data path for the target communication system; and transmitting to the terminal information about the configured data path.

A method according to an embodiment of the present invention, which is a method for generating a packet from a device in a mobile communication system, comprises the steps of: generating a function-based packet and transmitting the packet to a target node, wherein the packet is characterized in that an internet protocol (IP) address is not included therein.

The present disclosure may provide an operating method for supporting gateway change in a mobile communication system. According to one aspect of the present disclosure, the method includes receiving a message requesting to consent to the gateway change from a network entity; and according to whether at least one flow requiring session continuity is set, sending a response message regarding the gateway change consent to the network entity, wherein, when the at least one flow requiring the session continuity is set, the network entity can hold the gateway change based on the response message.

The method comprises: if there is data that is directed from an application server to an application of a terminal, transmitting, to a location register, a first message requesting location information of the terminal; if the location register receives the first message, transmitting, to a gateway, a second message requesting the location information of the terminal; transmitting, to the location register by the gateway, a third message including the location information of the terminal; transmitting, to the application server by the location register, a fourth message including the location information of the terminal; and transmitting, to the application of the terminal by the application server, the data using the location information of the terminal.

Methods and apparatuses for processing charging in wireless communication systems and methods and apparatuses for providing providers' policy services through the charging process are provided. The method includes identifying, by an evolved Node B (eNB), a radio access technology (RAT) used by a user equipment (UE), and generating, by the eNB, charging information per use of a communication service by the UE according to the identified radio access technology (RAT). The method includes identifying, by an eNB, a RAT used by a UE, generating, by the eNB, charging-related information including RAT information indicating the identified RAT for a charging process per use of a communication service by the UE, and transmitting, by the eNB, the charging-related information to a network entity involved with the charging process.

The present invention relates to a method by which a proxy sets an initial window value in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: splitting a transmission control protocol (TCP) connection between a terminal and a server; extracting the information related to the terminal from the data received from the terminal; and setting the initial window value on the basis of a round trip time (RTT) value and a throughput value for each of terminal groups grouped on the basis of the information related to the terminal.

The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data rate beyond a 4G communication system such as LTE. In addition, the present disclosure relates to a TCP-based transmission control method and apparatus which can reduce a delay time while improving a transmission rate in a communication system. A method for TCP-based transmission control in a communication system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises the steps of: determining a maximum target transmission rate for TCP control using maximum congestion windows (CWNDs) estimated at predetermined times; determining a minimum target round trip time (RTT) for the TCP control using minimum RTTs estimated at the predetermined times; and updating at least one of a congestion window (CWND) and a receive window (RWND) in an RTT time slot, using the maximum target transmission rate and the minimum target RTT.
