The at least one selected control beam is associated to the mobile station.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for remapping and regrouping transmission resources in a wireless communication system. First, a set of new permutation algorithms based on Galois field operation is proposed. Then the proposed algorithms and the known Pruned Bit Reversal Ordering (PBRO) algorithm are applied to several of various resource mapping schemes, including slot or symbol level Orthogonal Cover (OC)/Cyclic Shift (CS) mapping, cell-specific slot-level and symbol-level CS hopping patterns, and subframe and slot level base sequence hopping patterns.

The mobile station includes a plurality of antennas configured to communicate with the base station. The mobile station also includes a processing circuitry coupled to the plurality of antennas. The processing circuitry is configured to perform a random access during a random access channel (RACH) burst. The processing circuitry also is configured to at least one of: transmit a random access signal with at least one of an initial transmit power level and an initial transmit beamwidth, and, in response to a random access attempt failure, change at least one of a transmit (Tx) power level and a Tx beamwidth and retransmit the random access signal.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus of a base station (BS) or a user equipment (UE) that communicate with each other via one or more directional beams. The BS sends and the UE receives a timing advance (TA). The BS receives information sent by the UE via a receive beam of the one or more directional beams of the BS and via an uplink (UL) control region of an UL control channel. The UL control region of the UL control channel identified via the TA and the receive beam.
Abstract:
To reduce the duration of a cyclic prefix used for a multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) communications channel, delay spread variations for different transmit/receive beam pair combination is estimated and used for fast beam switching and to support single user MIMO (SU-MIMO) even when the CP difference between two beams is large. Beam switching reference signals are employed to estimate delay spread exceeding current CP, and to support beam switching. CP covering sub-clusters within clusters for the MIMO channel are exploited to reduce the CP requirement and improve efficiency. Any one of a number of different CP durations may be selected for each different mobile station, using one of a finite set of subframe configurations for which the CP durations of different symbol locations within the subframe are predefined. Dynamically switching subframe configurations by the system accommodates high mobility.
Abstract:
Resource elements from multiple code blocks are separated into different groups, and decoding the code bits of the resource elements within each group without waiting for a completed reception of a transport block to start decoding. Coded bits from multiple code blocks are separated into different groups, and the code blocks containing coded bits within each group are decoded. A first CRC is attached to the transport block and a second CRC is attached to at least one code block from the transport block. An improved channel interleaver design includes mapping from coded bits of different code blocks to modulation symbols, and mapping from modulation symbols to time, frequency, and spatial resources, to make sure each code block to get roughly the same level of protection.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for allocating code resources to ACK/NACK channel indexes, when UEs need ACK/NACK transmission in a wireless communication system in which a predetermined number of orthogonal cover Walsh codes is selected from among available orthogonal cover Walsh codes, at least one subset is formed, having the selected orthogonal cover Walsh codes arranged in an ascending order of cross interference, subsets are selected for use in first and second slots of a subframe, and the orthogonal cover Walsh codes of the subset selected for each slot and ZC sequence cyclic shift values are allocated to the ACK/NACK channel indexes.
Abstract:
Asynchronous Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) process identities are transmitted in a wireless communication system. A linking scheme is established between at least two sets of process identities of two respective corresponding codewords. When a first process identity is selected from among a first set of process identities of a first codeword, a second process identity may be derived in dependence upon the first process identity and the established linking scheme. Finally, a first packet from the first codeword is transmitted using a first transmission channel indicated by the first process identity, and a second packet is transmitted from the second codeword using a second transmission channel indicated by the second process identity. In addition, a control message including only the first process identity is transmitted.
