Abstract: A Device to Device (D2D) user equipment (UE) is configured to support synchronization in a D2D network. The D2D UE includes an antenna configured to communicate via a D2D communication. The D2D UE also includes processing circuitry configured to enter a communication Mode 2 when certain conditions are met. The certain conditions include: when a first timer (T310) for detecting radio link failure is running, a second timer (T311) for initiating the connection reestablishment is running, or a third timer (T301) for requesting connection reestablishment is running. In communication Mode 2, the D2D UE, on its own, selects resources from resource pool(s) to transmit D2D data and D2D control information. The processing circuitry further configured to exit the communication Mode 2 and enter a communication Mode 1 when the certain condition is no longer met. In communication Mode 1, the D2D UE uses resources configured by another station.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured by a Master enhanced NodeB (MeNB) for operation with dual connectivity to a Secondary eNB (SeNB) to transmit acknowledgement information when the UE is power limited and for a respective eNB to determine a UE power limitation. The UE, the MeNB, and the SeNB adjust operation according to a partitioning of a UE capability between the MeNB and the SeNB. The UE capability can be a transmission power, a soft buffer size, a reception or a transmission of a number of data transport block bits, or a number of decoding operations.

Abstract: A base station transmits and a UE detects broadcast information when the UE operates in a Coverage Enhancement (CE) mode. The base station transmits repetitions of signaling conveying broadcast information in one or more subframes of each frame in a quadruple of frames. The transmission is intermittent in time. To detect the broadcast information, the UE blindly combines and decodes the repetitions of signaling assuming their existence. The base station informs the pattern for the intermittent transmissions of the signaling to UEs connected to the base station or to other base stations.

Abstract: A visible light communication (VLC) device is provided for use in a VLC system. The VLC device detect a trigger condition indicating a failure of a VLC link associated with first allocated resources used to communicate with a second VLC device. In response to the detection, the VLC device terminates on the first allocated resources transmission of data to the second VLC device and transmits a fast link recovery (FLR) signal using the first allocated resources. The VLC device receives a fast link recovery response (FLR RSP) signal indicating the second VLC device received the FLR signal and, in response, the VLC device resumes transmission of data to the second VLC device.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a User Equipment (UE) having a receiver and a decoder. The receiver is configured to receive, from an eNodeB (eNB), a signal indicating a configuration of a period to receive one or more Physical Downlink Control CHannels (PDCCHs) in respective one or more Transmission Time Intervals (TTIs). Each of the one or more PDCCHs conveys a same Downlink Control Information (DCI) format. The DCI format includes at least one field indicating a first Time Division Duplexing (TDD) UpLink-DownLink (UL-DL) configuration in a first cell for DL data receptions or UL data transmissions. A TDD UL-DL configuration includes ten TTIs each having a respective serial index from 0 to 9. The receiver is also configured to receive, from the eNB, at least one PDCCH of the one or more PDCCHs. The decoder is configured to decode the DCI format conveyed by the at least one PDCCH in a second cell. The period is a multiple of ten TTIs, and the one or more TTIs are in a last ten TTIs of the period.

Abstract: Adaptation of measurement procedures for cell detection and association provide more accurate and frequent reports for use by the network, to enhance cell association. A user equipment receives, within a configured measurement bandwidth, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbols comprising discovery reference signals (DRS). For subframes in which the DRS are transmitted, a discovery reference signal received quality (D-RSRQ) is determined from the DRS within the received symbols as a ratio of discovery reference signal received power (D-RSRP) to carrier discovery received signal strength indicator (D-RSSI), where the D-RSRP is measured in symbols containing DRS resource elements and the D-RSSI is measured in all symbols in subframes containing the DRS. For a UE configured to also measure common reference signals, non-DRS measurements are suspended upon deactivation of a secondary cell, and measurement timing of the DRS during a deactivation period is based on a measurement timing parameter.
