摘要： A portable blade sharpening system including a sharpening device having a main body and a clamping bar for securing a blade to be sharpened. Guide arms having openings are attached to the main body for receiving and guiding a support rod. The support rod is attached to a sharpening hone holder and is movable between a retracted and extended position. The sharpening hone holder has a channel for housing the support rod when it is in the retracted position. The clamping bar includes recessions for providing it with a low-profile adjacent the clamped blade. The openings of the guide arms are substantially rectangular so that a consistent cutting angle is maintained.

摘要： A system and method for converting a rebate sponsor's offer into an instant credit or price reduction against a follow-on purchase. Rebate requests are obtained at a site on the Internet. The rebate request is tested to confirm that the at least one predetermined criterion has been satisfied. The person making the rebate request is enabled to make the follow-on purchase, with the rebate being converted into the instant credit or price reduction against the total price of the follow-on purchase. The follow-on purchase transaction is completed by charging that person for the purchase. The credit or price reduction can be conditioned on at least one predetermined criterion such as amount being spent on the follow-on purchase, the vendor from which the follow-on purchase is being made, and other criteria. The credit or price reduction can be redeemed in parts across a series of follow-on purchase transactions. In another aspect of the invention, consumers are advised of rebate offers. In this aspect, a server of a credit issuer receives purchase transaction details concerning an item purchase from a vendor, the item purchase is correlated with any rebate offer, and, in the event of a match, the consumer is advised by electronic mail that a rebate is available and can be converted into instant credit or price reduction on a follow-on purchase.

POS methods for code processing are also described.

摘要： A system for releasably attaching a panel to a wall. The panel is provided with a front surface intended to be visible to an observer once the panel has been installed upon the wall at a rear surface opposite the front surface supporting a plurality of magnets. A corresponding plurality of brackets are attached to the wall and positioned such that when the panel is properly positioned upon the wall, the panel is releasably secured thereto by causing the plurality of magnets to be secured to the plurality of brackets. The panels can abut one another to create a variety of useful surfaces such as pegboard, corkboard, chalkboard, fabric and magnetic bulletin boards. The brackets can be oriented to obscure them from a viewer and can also be reoriented to provide a releasable attachment means for a frame to surround the panels for a more finished, aesthetic appearance.
