    摘要: In a Diesel engine with a Bosch-type fuel pump or the like having a control lever which determines the fuel injection quantity, idling speed is controlled by a movable stopper which abuts the control lever to place a lower limit on fuel injection quantity during idling. A control unit derives a target idling speed value according to engine temperature, electrical load, etc. and controls the pneumatic actuator of the stopper in accordance with the difference between actual engine speed during idling and the target idling speed. When the engine is not idling, the pneumatic actuator may be controlled to act as a dashpot, damping the return of the control lever to its idling position. Electromagnetically controlled valves respond to the control unit by providing atmospheric pressure or negative pressure to the pneumatic actuator. An auxiliary valve is provided for bypassing a defective atmospheric pressure supplying valve.

The rate of fuel injection by the second pump at the first timing is inversely related to the rate of fuel injection by the second pump at the second timing.

    摘要: A fuel supply apparatus for a diesel engine includes a fuel tank and a fuel injection pump. The fuel injection pump has an inlet and an overflow outlet. A fuel feed line connects the fuel tank to the inlet of the fuel injection pump. A fuel feed pump is disposed in the fuel feed line to supply fuel from the fuel tank to the fuel injection pump. A fuel filter is disposed along the fuel feed line. A main fuel return line connects the overflow outlet of the fuel injection pump to the fuel tank. An auxiliary fuel return line connects the overflow outlet of the fuel injection pump to the fuel feed line at a position upstream of the fuel filter. A control valve is disposed in the auxiliary fuel return line to selectively block the latter. A device drives the control valve in response to the temperature of fuel in the fuel filter so that the control valve will block the auxiliary fuel return line only when the temperature of fuel in the fuel filter is higher than a preset value.

The control sleeve is controlled by an electrical motor through the motor's rotating shaft which is biased by an urging device circumferentially. The motor shaft is rotated to a predetermined position where the amount of injected fuel becomes small enough to keep engine operation safe if the motor output force exerted on the motor shaft disappears owing to a defect occurring.

The inner space varies in volume drawing thereinto and discharging therefrom fuel in response to axial displacement of the governor sleeve. According to the present invention, there is provided a helical groove which is formed in the outer cylindrical surface of the governor shaft or the inner cylindrical surface of the governor sleeve. Such groove effects a forced fuel conveying action of forcedly, though yieldingly, conveying fuel from the inner chamber to the inner space, which is effective in preventing an acceleration jerk and smoky exhaust upon rapid engine acceleration.

    摘要: In a fuel injection system, as an engine crankshaft rotates twice, a working chamber contracts and expands a number of times equal to twice the number of engine combustion chambers. Each time the working chamber expands, fuel is conducted to the working chamber. During alternate contractions of the working chamber, fuel is directed from the working chamber toward each of the combustion chambers in sequence to be injected thereinto at a first timing. During the intervening contractions of the working chamber, fuel is directed from the working chamber toward each of the combustion chambers in sequence to be injected thereinto at a second timing. The second timing follows the first timing by a fraction of at least one operating stroke of the engine. In another fuel injection system of this invention, fuel is periodically injected into an engine combustion chamber at a first timing with respect to rotation of the engine crankshaft. Fuel is also periodically injected into the combustion chamber at a second timing with respect to rotation of the crankshaft. The quantity of fuel injected at the first timing increases to a preset maximum level as the quantity of fuel injected at the second timing increases to a predetermined level. The first timing fuel quantity remains at the preset maximum level as the second timing fuel quantity increases from the predetermined level.

The control circuit is responsive to the second sensor for interrupting communication between the water separator and the fuel supplier when the water level in the water separator chamber increases to the high level.
