Video displays can be used in stores to display customizable advertisements of a particular vendor. These advertisements can be selectively modified, personalized, and/or customized for a particular customer when that customer is recognized as being in proximity to the video display. This recognition can use the customer's mobile communication device, such as a cell phone, which can be recognized by the system as being in proximity to the video display. This recognition can also read information from a user's identification card, such as a loyalty card, in proximity to the video display. Customized content can be moved from one display to another as the customer moves through a store.

The multi-layer material includes a first layer having the appearance of the stainless steel surface, and at least one clear protective layer over the first layer. The first layer has a peel strength of two to four times the peel strength of the clear protective layer and as a result, the clear protective layer is peelable and replaceable while leaving the first layer in place. In one embodiment, the first layer has a peel strength of at least two times the peel strength of the clear protective layer, for example, the first layer may have a peel strength of eleven to fifteen pounds per square inch and the clear protective layer may have a peel strength of four to five pounds per square inch.

Grinding may be performed in steps going from course to fine grinding pads, and stopping with a 400 grit pad, leaving a somewhat cloudy appearing surface. The polyester film fills in small irregularities in the cloudy glass surface thus eliminating the need to polish the glass.
