    摘要: A turn-by-turn on-vehicle navigation system is capable of providing drivers with helpful and appropriate information to free them from their various anxieties caused as a result of relatively less information on a display. When the vehicle's current position is located on a recommended route after the completion of a certain guidance the driver is determined as properly driving the vehicle as expected, and receives a message telling that he/she is on the right track. With such a message, the driver does not feel anxiety that often occurs when making a turn at an intersection. Further, when the vehicle passes by a predetermined landmark located at close range, supplemental information is provided for the location. Such information removes the driver's uneasiness when he/she keeps going straight along the same road for a long time. Still further, at the destination, information about the area is provided. Thereby, the driver can feel secure even if he/she is new to the area.

The device includes a GUI button allocation section that first allocates a GUI button, read out from a GUI button data storing section, to each fingertip in a hand shape acquired by a hand shape acquiring section when a contact position acquiring section detects a contact to an operation surface by the operator. Then, in accordance with a change of hand shape direction, the GUI button allocation section reallocates the GUI button to each fingertip of the hand shape. The device also includes a superimposed image creating section that creates a composite image of an image of a GUI button allocated by the GUI button allocation section and an image of the hand shape, and a displaying section that displays the composite image of the image of the GUI button and the image of the hand shape created by the superimposed image creating section.

    摘要: A power seat slide device for a motor vehicle comprises a rail unit including a stationary rail mounted to a vehicle floor and a movable rail slidably engaged with the stationary rail. The movable rail carries thereon a seat. A twin gear member is rotatably held by the movable rail. The twin gear member includes a worm gear and a first crossed helical gear. An elongate counterpart structure for the worm gear is possessed by the stationary rail. The counterpart structure extends along the stationary rail and is meshedly engaged with the worm gear, so that rotation of the twin gear member about its axis induces a straight-line movement of the movable rail relative to the stationary rail. An electric motor is held by the movable rail. A speed reduction gear unit is held by the movable rail. The speed reduction gear unit is arranged between the electric motor and the first crossed helical member in such a manner that the twin gear member is rotated by the electric motor through the speed reduction gear unit.

The seat back includes a seat back frame of metal, a horizontally extending reinforcing rod of metal secured to the seat back frame in such a manner that opposed ends thereof are projected laterally outwardly from two side portions of the seat back frame thereby to provide outwardly and inwardly projected portions, and a cushion pad covering both the seat back frame and the reinforcing rod so that the seat back has outside and inside lateral projections. The outwardly projected portion of the reinforcing rod extends toward the side door in closed condition. An air-bag unit is held by the outwardly projected portion of the reinforcing rod. The air-bag unit includes an air-bag which can be inflated between the seat back and the side door upon a vehicle collision.

    摘要: In a motor vehicle, there are arranged abreast first and second seats. Each seat includes a seat cushion, a seatback pivotally connected to the seat cushion, and a power reclining device for pivoting the seatback to a desired angular position. A load transmitting center structure is mounted on the vehicle floor between the first and second seats. A manual switch is used which, when operated, pivots the seatback of the second seat to a desired angular position. At least the second seat has a reinforcing structure installed therein. The reinforcing structure exhibits the maximum performance in cooperation with the load transmitting center structure when the seatback of the second seat is within a given angular range. A computer-aided control device is used, which limits the angular position of the seatback of the second seat to the given angular range when the second seat carries thereon a seat occupant, and pivots the seatback of the second seat to an angular position coincident with that taken by the seatback of the first seat when the second seat carries thereon no seat occupant.
