    Abstract: This specification discloses an apparatus having both the copier function of optically exposing the surface of a photosensitive member to an original image and the printer function of converting an electrical information signal into light and exposing the surface of the photosensitive member to such light. The apparatus has a switching device for switching on and off the exposure of the surface of the photosensitive member by the copier function and the printer function, and a timing device governing the ON-OFF switching by the switching device.
