Abstract:
Novel TF-2 substances having antitumor and immunostimulating activity, which are obtained from a culture or its supernatant fluid prepared by culturing bacteria belonging to Fusobacterium genus. Said substances are useful for the treatment of cancerous diseases of the mammals including human beings. This disclosure concerns such substances and a process for preparing the same and an antitumor agent containing the same.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a process for producing a TF-500 substance having carcinostatic and immunostimulating activities, which comprises subjecting organisms belonging to the Fusobacterium genus to extraction treatment with a dialkyl sulfoxide and obtaining said TF-500 substance from the resulting extract.
Abstract:
A process disclosed for producing spherical articles or fibers with a specially fixed size from a melt of metal, slag, or flux, by introducing the melt onto the center of a rotating disk through a conduit so as to form a thin film stream of boundary layer on the disk; projecting the thin film stream at a high speed fom the disk periphery into surrounding space to split up the film stream into linear streams; and cooling the linear streams for producing fibers or cooling droplets after further splitting of the each linear stream into droplets for producing spherical particles, with or without parallel or countercurrent gas flow to the linear streams.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A developing device for an image forming apparatus may include a seal and a casing to prevent leakage of developer. In some examples, the seal member may include multiple side surfaces while the casing may include projections that may abut and contact various surfaces of the seal member. According to one arrangement, the casing may include first, second and third protrusions, where each protrusion is configured to abut and contact a corresponding surface of the seal member. Additionally, the second projection may protrude in a position inside of the first projection while the third projection may protrude in a position between the first and second projections.
Abstract:
A development device has a casing configured with a first frame and a second frame. The first frame includes attachment surfaces to which a regulating member is attached. A facing surface of the second frame is disposed between the attachment surfaces, in a predetermined plane including the attachment surfaces, and configured to face a portion of the regulating member between the attachment surfaces. A seal member is disposed between the regulating member and opposite surfaces including the attachment surfaces and the facing surface, and configured to seal first gaps each of which is formed between the facing surface and one of the attachment surfaces, in a first direction parallel to a rotational axis of a developing member rotatably supported by the casing.
Abstract:
A developing device includes a developer carrier which carries a developer, a developing unit housing which rotatably supports the developer carrier, a side seal member which comes into slidable contact with both ends of the developer carrier, a sheet-like elongated seal member which extends in the axial direction of the developer carrier so as to come into slidable contact with the developer carrier, a side seal attachment surface which is formed in the developing unit housing and to which the side seal member is attached, and a support portion which is formed in the developing unit housing and protrudes toward the developer carrier from the side seal attachment surface to support the elongated seal member. The elongated seal member is attached onto the support portion in a state where both ends thereof overlap the side seal member and are opposite the side seal attachment surface. A filler is filled in a gap surrounded by the elongated seal member, the side seal member, the support portion, and the side seal attachment surface. A protrusion for suppressing the spread of the filler is formed at the side seal attachment surface at a predetermined interval from the support portion.
Abstract:
A single terahertz wave time-waveform measuring device 1 acquires information on an object to be measured 9 by using a terahertz wave, and includes a light source 11, a beam diameter adjuster 12, a separator 13, a terahertz wave generator 21, a light path length difference adjuster 31, a pulse front tilting unit 32, a polarizer 33, a wave synthesizer 41, an electro-optic crystal 42, an analyzer 43, and a photodetector 44. The terahertz wave generator 21 generates a pulse terahertz wave in response to an input of pump light and outputs the pulse terahertz wave. The pulse front tilting unit 32 makes pulse fronts of the terahertz wave and the probe light when being input into the electro-optic crystal 42 nonparallel to each other by tilting the pulse front of the probe light.
Abstract:
A vehicle navigation apparatus displays an expressway guide diagram indicating the names of plural exits at which a travelling vehicle can exit an expressway and the distance and estimated arrival time to each of the exits. The expressway guide diagram includes a map display for indicating a display of a surrounding-area map of an exit. When the map display is operated, the display scale of the surrounding-area map is determined so as to contain a predetermined number of representative facilities, and the surrounding-area map is displayed on a display device according to the display scale. Therefore, with respect to each exit at which the vehicle can get off the expressway, a map based on the proper display scale corresponding to the positional relationship between each exit and facilities can be displayed.
