摘要： There is provided a semiconductor pressure sensor which improves the sensor sensitivity and is excellent in the withstand pressure characteristic and the temperature characteristic. In the semiconductor pressure sensor in which a diaphragm is formed by a cavity provided on one of top and bottom surfaces of a silicon substrate and a plurality of piezoresistors is disposed in the diaphragm edge, a recess which has a larger area than the planar shape of the diaphragm and whose entire edge is located outward from the diaphragm edge in plan view is provided in a protective film which covers the entire surface of the silicon substrate on the diaphragm side. The protective film located on the diaphragm is preferably formed of SiO2.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a panel having pixel electrodes arranged at intersections of a plurality of signal lines via switching elements for transmitting display data and a plurality of scanning lines for transmitting control signals, and a control circuit for controlling the panel. The liquid crystal panel is divided into first pixel regions and second pixel regions adjacent to the first pixel regions. The control circuit carries out impulse driving in which the control signals transmitted to each of the scanning lines are activated two times in one frame period for displaying an image. The control circuit writes the display data in either one of the pixel regions and writes reset data in the other pixel regions when the control signals are activated once of the two times. By writing the reset data in the pixel regions, the display data written in an immediately preceding frame are reset. In consecutive frames, the display data written in the pixel regions are always reset in one frame period. Therefore, blurring in a moving image can be alleviated. Since writing the display data and the reset data is carried out separately in the first pixel regions and in the second pixel regions, flicker is prevented from occurring in a display screen.

In another embodiment, the lighting unit may include a second optical waveguide disposed in the space between the cold-cathode tube and the reflector, wherein a space is formed between the cold-cathode tube and the second optical waveguide.

摘要： A backlight driving circuit is controlled by a timing controller and executes on/off control of the backlights. The timing controller detects, using a synchronous signal, a change in a blank period which is of one frame period for display of one screen, during which the image signal is not transmitted. Upon detecting the change in the blank period, the timing controller adjusts the on-periods of the backlights in order to make the brightness of the backlights equal to one another. Consequently, the backlights have an equal brightness with one another in spite of the change in the blank period. This makes the lives of the backlights equal to one another. In a case where the plural backlights constitute a backlight unit, a reduction in life of the backlight unit is prevented. Further, it is also possible to prevent the brightness of the backlights from being differentiated even through a long-term use.
