    摘要: The present invention provides novel glycopeptides antibiotic derivatives comprising a sugar residue (I) represented by the formula: (wherein n is an integer of 1 to 5: Sugs are each independently a monosaccharide, (Sug)n is a divalent sugar residue formed by binding of same or different 1 to 5 monosaccharides; RA1 is optionally substituted lower alkyl, optionally substituted lower alkenyl, or optionally substituted cycloalkyl; and RE is OH or NHAc (Ac is acetyl)) is bound to an aromatic ring of the fourth amino acid residue in the glycopeptide skeleton. These derivatives have antibacterial activity against vancomycin-resistant bacteria.

    摘要: A tensioner for a chain or similar power transmission medium comprises a spring-biased plunger having annular rack teeth with gradually sloping forward surfaces and steeper rearward surfaces. The teeth are engaged by radially movable balls received in inclined grooves in an axially movable annular ball seat disposed in an annular groove formed in the wall of a plunger-accommodating hole in a tensioner housing. The bottoms of the inclined grooves face a steep rearward surface of a rack tooth, and the annular ball seat is axially movable in the annular groove and biased in the plunger protruding direction by a spring that exerts a biasing force greater than the biasing force exerted on the plunger. The balls and the movable annular ball seat block retraction of the plunger on engine start-up, but permit retraction when excessive force is imparted to the plunger while the plunger is in a protruding condition.

    摘要: The present invention provides a sol of spinous silica-based particles in which silica-based particles having peculiar forms, spinous forms are dispersed in a solvent. The spinous silica-based particles have verrucous projections formed on surfaces of spherical silica-based particles. In the spinous particles, a value of the surface roughness (SA1/SA2, SA1 indicating a specific surface area measured by the BET method or the Sears method and SA2 indicating a specific surface area converted from an average particle diameter (D2) measured by the image analysis method) is in the range from 1.7 to 10. Furthermore the average diameter (D2) measured by the image analysis method is in the range from 7 to 150 nm.

    摘要: The check valve unit of a hydraulic tensioner comprises a check ball, a ball guide and a disc-shaped retainer. The retainer is fixed to the high pressure oil chamber side of the ball guide by crimping an annular portion of the ball guide over the outer edge of the retainer so that substantially all of an annular circumferential portion of the high pressure chamber side of the retainer is held underneath the crimped portion of the ball guide. The crimped portion of the ball guide forms a recess for receiving and positioning a plunger-biasing spring. A ball seat is similarly secured to the inflow side of the ball guide by crimping.

The outer circumferential surface of each bushing is provided with at least one flat portion or at least one concave groove, and a protruding portion of the bushing is formed adjacent the end of the flat or groove remote from the engine block-contacting end of the bushing.
