Abstract: In an ink jet head manufacturing method, a head substrate is heated, and then an adhesive sheet having an adhesive layer is placed on the head substrate so as to bring the adhesive layer in contact with one surface of the substrate so that the adhesive layer only at portions in contact with the substrate is softened by the temperature of the substrate and is transferred to the substrate as the adhesive sheet is peeled off the substrate. Then a nozzle plate is placed on the head substrate in such a manner that small holes of the nozzle plate are aligned with ink ejection openings of the substrate, whereupon the nozzle plate is reheated under pressure so as to be attached to the substrate. Since the adhesive layer is transferred to the substrate, it is possible to effectively prevent the adhesive agent from protruding into the openings and hence to improve the nozzle density. It is also not necessary to previously provide the adhesive sheet with any holes.

Abstract: A thermal transfer printer comprises a flat tray supported to reciprocate between an advancing limit position and a retreating limit position with a sheet placed thereon, a ribbon supply device arranged above the tray for supplying a transfer ink ribbon, a heating print head, and a moving device for supporting the print head above the tray. The moving device causes the print head to move toward the tray for pressing the ink ribbon against the sheet when the tray moves toward the advancing limit position. Further, the moving device further causes the print head to move away from the tray when the tray moves toward the retreating limit position.

Abstract: In a television image display apparatus, one field of an input video signal is divided into a plurality of areas in each of which image information is sampled, and an arithmetic processor provides a video control signal on the basis of preset adjusting data received from a memory and the sampled image information. Luminance, chrominance or sharpness levels can be automatically controlled for each field by such video control signal to maintain the video display in an optimum state. Noise problems typically associated with dark images or weak electric fields are eliminated, while improving the image quality by adjusting the video output for each field.

Abstract: Channel selecting apparatus for use with at least first and second tuning devices, each tuning device being responsive to a channel selecting signal supplied thereto for being tuned to a corresponding frequency. At least first and second selectors are provided for producing first and second selector signals, respectively, representing those channels to which the first and second tuning devices are tunable. A set of adjustable elements, common to all of the tuning devices are settable to produce respective channel selecting signals. At least first and second sampling circuits, associated with the first and second tuning devices, respectively, are responsive to first and second phases, respectively, of a switching signal to sample a channel selecting signal applied thereto. A set of switching circuits is provided, each switching circuit being coupled to a respective one of the adjustable elements to receive a respective first selector signal and a respective second selector signal. Each switching circuit is conditioned by the first phase of the switching signal to enable the channel selecting signal produced by the adjustable element coupled thereto to be applied to the first sampling circuit if a first selector signal is supplied thereto, and each switching circuit is conditioned by the second phase of the switching signal to enable the channel selecting signal produced by the adjustable element coupled thereto to be applied to the second sampling circuit if a second selector signal is supplied thereto. The channel selecting signals sampled by the first and second sampling circuits are applied to the first and second tuning devices, respectively.

Abstract: An inkjet printer comprises an inkjet printing head. The printing head has a reduced width in a main scanning direction, is compact, and assures improved printing quality. In the printing head, a head base plate has ink channels and nozzle rows. The ink channels and nozzles are in communication with pressure chambers. The nozzle rows are arranged in an inclined manner along a sub-scanning direction, and are arranged with spaces wider than a printing width in the sub-scanning direction. Different colors of ink are supplied to the ink channels so as to print images in colors such as yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C) or black (BK).

Abstract: An image sensor has a case, a glass cover attached to its upper surface, a head plate carrying a plurality of image sensor chips, a plurality of light-emitting elements for illuminating a document placed on the glass cover and a rod lens array for focusing the reflected light from the document on the image sensor chips, and a light-conducting member which is placed inside the case for effectively directing the light from the light-emitting elements to a specified area of the glass cover. The upper surface of the rod lens array at both its ends is compressed by compressing members formed at both end parts of the light-conducting member. The rod lens array is inserted from above into a holder having a groove formed inside the case. The holder may have protrusions formed for engaging with an edge on the upper surface of the rod lens array approximately in the middle in the longitudinal direction for easy attachment.

Abstract: A pair of holes are formed with a predetermined space therebetween on a long and narrow base plate. An adhesive is applied to the surface of the base plate. Head substrates each having a row of thermal resistors on the surface thereof are placed on the adhesive on the base plate such that the joint of the head substrates is positioned between the pair of holes of the base plate. The adhesive is hardened in the state in which the head substrates are pushed upward by thrusting means inserted into a pair of holes while the base plate is supported from below and the head substrates is pressed from above. The base plate is bonded to a radiating plate by an adhesive only at the central portion. Thus, there is no difference in level at the joint of the head substrates, and even when the radiating plate expands due to heat, the base plate is not deformed.
