Abstract: Methods and related systems of detecting a fault in a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system are disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes determining an expected runtime of the HVAC system required to achieve a temperature setpoint in a comfort zone of the HVAC system following a triggering event, wherein the expected runtime is based on a design temperature of a geographic location at which the HVAC system is installed. Additionally, the method includes monitoring a current runtime of the HVAC system elapsed following the triggering event, and comparing the expected runtime with the current runtime of the HVAC system elapsed following the triggering event.

Abstract: A mounting plate assembly for securing a plug of a network cable to a jack of an electronic device. The assembly includes a mounting plate having an attachment mechanism that is configured for releasable locking engagement with the electronic device. Further, the mounting plate is adapted to be mounted to a mounting structure. The mounting plate includes inner passageway that is adapted to receive insertion of at least a portion of the plug. Additionally, the inner passageway is adapted to depress a locking clip of the inserted plug to a position that prevents the locking clip from lockingly engaging a protrusion in an aperture of the jack. Further, the retention member may include at least one arm that is configured to retain the plug in a relatively static position relative to the mounting plate when the plug is being received in, and removed from, the aperture of the jack.

Abstract: Methods, controllers, and the like are disclosed that can include determining an occurrence of an event (where the occurrence of the event is determined by a controller of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, and the HVAC system controls a temperature of air in an environment by controlling a setpoint temperature of conditioned air provided by the HVAC system to the environment). Such methods, controllers, and the like can further include, in response to a determination that the event has occurred, altering the temperature of the air in the environment by executing a sleep profile, where the sleep profile is executed by the controller and execution of the sleep profile adjusts the setpoint temperature as a function of time over a time period, such that the temperature of the air in the environment leads an occupant in the environment into a sleep state or a wakeful state.

Abstract: Methods and related systems for measuring a temperature with an onboard sensor of a device of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system are disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes (a) changing a power state of the device from off to on, and (b) detecting a raw temperature with the sensor after (a). In addition, the method includes (c) determining a time offset along a predetermined time and temperature relationship for the device, and (d) calculating a temperature offset with the predetermined time and temperature relationship at the time offset. Further, the method includes (e) subtracting the temperature offset from the raw temperature.
