    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can determine that a thermal condition or a battery condition is satisfied with regard to the UE, wherein the UE is associated with a 4G/Long Term Evolution (4G/LTE) connection and a 5G/New Radio (5G/NR) connection; determine whether the 5G/NR connection is to be activated or deactivated based on the thermal condition or the battery condition; transmit a tracking area update request based on determining that the thermal condition or the battery condition is satisfied; transmit capability information, wherein, when the 5G/NR connection is to be activated, the capability information indicates a 5G/NR capability of the UE, and wherein, when the 5G/NR connection is to be deactivated, the capability information does not indicate the 5G/NR capability of the UE; and deactivate or activate a 5G/NR modem of the UE based on determining that the thermal condition or the battery condition is satisfied.

    Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for lessening impact of connected mode mobility measurement is disclosed. A user equipment (UE) may reduce network management complexity by autonomously collecting signal quality measurements for neighboring cells. By autonomously tuning at opportune times for the UE, signal quality measurements may be obtained and reported to a serving cell. In another implementation, the UE examines the broadcast system information of both the serving base station against that of the neighboring base stations. Based on the included bandwidth information, the UE selects appropriate narrowband radio frequency subcarriers to perform signal quality measurement.

    Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide for storing parameters of a throttling service that governs transmissions of radio resource connection requests to a wireless network; generating a first radio resource connection request that includes an establishment cause; determining whether the establishment cause is subject to the throttling service; determining a value of a first parameter of the parameters in response to determining that the establishment cause is subject to the throttling service; omitting to transmit the first radio resource connection request in response to determining that the value of the first parameter is a first value; and transmitting the first radio resource connection request to the wireless network in response to determining that the value of the first parameter is a second value, wherein the first value and the second value are different.

The service may provide access barring information that includes an access class and a group identifier. The access class and group identifier may constitute an access category identifier that identifies an access category under a unified access control (UAC).     Abstract: A system described herein may provide a scheduling technique for physical radio frequency (“RF”) resources of a base station of a radio access network (“RAN”) of a wireless network. Resources for a first group of User Equipment (“UEs”) may be allocated during or prior to a first time slot, and the UEs may be notified during the first time slot of the allocated resources. The allocated resources may be provided during a subsequent second time slot. A second group of UEs may be notified, during the first time slot, of physical RF resources allocated for downlink data for the second group of resources, and such downlink data may be provided to the second group of UEs during the first time slot via the allocated physical RF resources. The assignments of the UEs to the respective groups may change over time based on network load or other metrics.
