摘要: In order to enable stamping or writing with an aqueous ink on a print with a colorant image or the like formed thereon and, at the same time, to impart fastness properties, such as weather resistance, chemical resistance, and solvent resistance to the print, there are provided a thermal transfer film for a protective layer, which, upon transfer on a print, can form a protective layer having a water-absorptive property and the above fastness, and a print with a protective layer transferred from the above transfer film. The thermal transfer film for a protective layer basically comprises a heat-resistant substrate film and a thermally transferable protective layer laminated thereto. The thermally transferable protective layer is thermally separated from the substrate and laminated on a print with a colorant image.

摘要: An image forming method using a thermal transfer, wherein a dye-receptive layer on a transfer film is transferred to a print sheet and then dye layers on a dye transfer film are superposed on the dye-receptive layer and subjected to an image forming operation of a thermal head so that an image is transferred to the dye-receptive layer. In order to transfer the dye-receptive layer to the print sheet uniformly to enable subsequent formation of an excellent dye image, the quantity of thermal energy being applied by the thermal head to the transfer film is decreased with elapse of time. This principle can also be used for transferring a protective layer to the print sheet on which a dye image has been formed.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for image formation, that can yield thermally transferred images which are excellent in various fastness properties even under severe service conditions, and an intermediate transfer recording medium for use in the method for image formation. The method for image formation comprises the steps of: providing an intermediate transfer recording medium comprising a substrate film and a transfer portion provided separably on the substrate film; forming an image on the intermediate transfer recording medium in its transfer portion; transferring the transfer portion onto an object; and, thereafter, again transferring the intermediate transfer recording medium in its next transfer portion once or more onto the object with the image formed thereon. In this case, in the intermediate transfer recording medium, a hologram image is set every at least second image plane, and an image can be formed on the transfer portion having the hologram image. This can offer an advantage that the transfer portion, with a thermally transferable image formed thereon, can be transferred onto an object followed by the superimposition of a transfer portion, to be served as the outermost surface in the final form onto the transferred portion once or more to provide a strong film for protecting the thermally transferred image. Thus, the problems of the prior art could have been solved.

摘要: A thermal transfer sheet is provided that can yield thermally transferred images, which possess excellent various fastness or resistance properties even under severe service conditions, and comprises a transferable protective layer having good transferability. In a thermal transfer sheet comprising a substrate sheet and a thermally transferable protective layer on the substrate sheet, the thermally transferable protective layer comprises a scratch-resistant layer which is repeatedly provided one by one for each picture plane unit in the thermal transfer sheet. An area of the scratch-resistant layer for each picture plane unit is smaller than an area of an object in its transfer surface. By virtue of this construction, at the time of the transfer of a protective layer onto an object, layer cutting does not occur within the scratch-resistant layer but within other layer (such as peel layer or adhesive layer), and, consequently, the protective layer can be transferred with good transferability.

摘要: There is provided an image receiving sheet which comprises: a substrate sheet, a reflection layer disposed on at least one surface side of the substrate sheet so as to be laid on at least one area thereof, and a receptor layer disposed on at least one surface side of the substrate sheet, wherein the reflection layer has at least one area provided with a convexo-concave pattern, the area provided with the convexo-concave pattern of the reflection layer being extended within an area provided with the receptor layer. The reflection layer is disposed, as required, either on the same surface side of the substrate sheet as the receptor layer is disposed so as to be interposed between the substrate sheet and the receptor layer or on the opposite side of a transparent substrate sheet to the surface provided with the receptor layer. The convexo-concave pattern may comprise an interference fringe, and may be divided into plural areas. The divided convexo-concave pattern may be composed of a single or plural kinds of pattern. The receptor layer is disposed on only one surface side of the substrate sheet, and the adhesive layer and the release sheet are disposed in this order on the other surface side, as required.
