摘要: Described is a system for multi-class classifier threshold-offset estimation for visual object recognition. The system receives an input image with input features for classifying. A pair-wise classifier is trained for each pair of a plurality of object classes. A set of classification responses is generated, and a multi-class receiver-operating-characteristics (ROC) curve is computed for a set of threshold-offsets. An objective function of classification performance is computed from the ROC curve and optimized using particle swarm optimization (PSO) to generate a set of optimized threshold-offsets. The optimized threshold-offsets are then applied to the classification responses. The resulting classification responses are compared to a predetermined value to classify each input feature as belonging to one object class or another. The tuning of the threshold-offsets with (PSO) improves classification performance in a visual object recognition system.

摘要: A method, system, and computer program product for detecting objects. Members of a general class of objects are searched for in a number of images. Members of a specific class of objects are searched for in a number of regions in the number of images where the number of regions contains at least a portion of the members of the general class. A member in the members of the specific class is a potential threat to a rotorcraft.

摘要: Described is a system for automatic object localization based on visual simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) and cognitive swarm recognition. The system is configured to detect a set of location data corresponding to a current location of a sensor positioned on a platform. A map model of an environment surrounding the sensor is generated based on an input image from the sensor and the location data. In a desired aspect, a cognitive swarm object detection module is used to search for and detect an object of interest. The three-dimensional location of the object of interest relative to the platform is then estimated based on the map model and the location data regarding the sensor. The system described allows for real-time, continuous three-dimensional location updating for moving objects of interest from a mobile platform. A computer-implemented method and computer program product are also described.

摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus for selectively separating polyurethane foam and fiber from Automobile Shredder Residue (ASR). The apparatus includes a first separator, a second separator, and a third separator. The first separator primarily separates fine particles, such as dirt or glass pieces, from the ASR at a front portion thereof and separates large-sized polyurethane foam and fiber from the ASR at a rear portion thereof. The second separator grinds remaining materials after the primary separation of the first separator. The third separator separates medium-sized polyurethane foam and fiber from the remaining materials after the separation of the first separator and secondarily separates plastics, rubber, and other materials.

摘要: A pneumatic bioreactor having a containment vessel which includes a semi-cylindrical concavity defined by the vessel bottom. A mixing apparatus includes a rotational mixer rotatably mounted within the containment vessel about a horizontal axis. The rotational mixer has buoyancy-driven mixing cavities which are fed by a gas supply beneath the rotational mixer. The mixing apparatus extends into the semi-cylindrical concavity to substantially fill that concavity. The rotational mixer is divided into two wheels with outer paddles extending axially outwardly and inner paddles extending axially inwardly on either side of each wheel. Blades between the outer and inner paddles form impellers in the wheels to induce axial flow through the wheels in opposite directions. Stationary baffles fixed relative to the containment vessel are inclined toward the rotational mixer in the direction of rotation. The containment vessel may be of film and supported by a structural housing also having a semi-cylindrical concavity defined by the noosing bottom.
