摘要: A liquid composition is disclosed which comprises a substantially stable dispersion in a liquid phase of particles comprising a detergent enzyme and a protective polymeric material that is impermeable to liquid detergent concentrates but releases the enzyme when agitated in aqueous wash liquor and comprises an outer polymeric shell and/or a polymeric matrix through which the enzyme is distributed.

摘要: Agrochemical and other particulate compositions are formed by coacervation. The coacervate is preferably formed from two water soluble coacervating polymers and stabilizes the particles against agglomeration. The coacervate is preferably formed from a relatively low molecular weight cationic polymer and a relatively high molecular weight anionic polymer.

摘要: Enzymes and other biologically produced materials are recovered from the fermentation broth or other liquor in which they are provided initially and simultaneously distributed throughout particles of a polymeric matrix by dissolving the polymer in the liquor, dispersing the resultant polymer solution in a non-aqueous liquor in the presence of a stabiliser, and azeotroping the dispersion to produce either dry beads or a dispersion of small particles in the non-aqueous liquid.

摘要: In a particulate additive for water for fire fighting containing a strongly swelling water-insoluble high molecular weight polymer as gelatinizing agent, the improvement which comprises a water-soluble release agent which does not cause the particles of said gelatinizing agent to swell, the particles of the gelatinizing agent being encased or dispersed in the release agent. Suitable release agents include polyethylene glycol, diammonium biphosphate, sugars, mannitol, etc. The gelatinizing agent may be a moderately cross-linked water-insoluble acrylic or methacrylic acid copolymer.

Wax or a mixture of wax and protein is dissolved in a mixed solvent consisting of an organic solvent and water, the surfaces of particles of a core substance are wetted with the resulting solution at temperatures of 45 deg.C or below to selectively deposit the wax or the mixture of wax and protein on the particle surfaces and allow them to coat the particle surfaces. And then a slurry containing the particles is subjected to a solvent removal treatment.

摘要: The present invention provides a biodegradable high molecular polymer characterized in that the content of water-soluble low molecular compounds, as calculated on the assumption that said compounds each is a monobasic acid, is less than 0.01 mole per 100 grams of said high molecular polymer.The thus-obtained molecular polymer has good aging stability and can be used advantageously as an excipient for pharmaceutical preparations.

摘要: A process for producing lipid membrane structures (vesicles or liposomes) is disclosed, wherein a solution of bilayer forming compounds in a narrowly-defined two component solvent system is dispersed in an aqueous solution and, subsequently, at least a portion of that solvent system is stripped off. This process permits the readily-reproducible production of lipid membrane structures under gentle processing conditions, ideal for use when they contain pharmaceutically-active materials.

摘要: A method and composition for the in-flight encapsulation of particles such as insecticides, herbicides, molluscicides, acaricides, fungicides, nutrients, pheromenes, odorants, fragrances, attractants, repellants, trace elements, and the like. The composition comprises, by weight, from 1 to 40 percent of said particles, from 0.3 to 25 percent of a film-forming polymer and from 35 to 99 percent of a solvent which renders said polymers soluble. Often, other compounds may be added to impart desirable properties such as a second film-forming polymer, crosslinking agents, film modifying agents, and adhesives to improve adhesion to a target. The particle may be in a true solution suspended or emulsified through the action of surfactants and/or emulsifying agents. The film-forming polymer is selected from the class consisting of polyvinyl ethers, polyvinyl acetate, and interpolymers of alpha-beta olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acids and N-methylol acrylic amides, as set forth in U.S. Pat. No. 3,007,887. Upon ejection from a spray apparatus and during flight through the intervening atmosphere, the solution rapidly loses the solvent component via evaporation, coacervation occurs, and a polymeric membrane forms about the particle. Control of the encapsulated particle size can be achieved through selection of the spray system and of the non-volatiles in the spray at the moment of droplet formation.

摘要: Organic or inorganic particulate solid substances are coated with a polymeric material by dispersing the particulate solids, the surfaces of which have been treated so as to be compatible with the polymer coating, in a solution containing the polymer dissolved in a water-immiscible solvent, slowly introducing into the dispersion an aqueous solution of a hydrophilic protective colloid, thus producing an emulsifying liquid medium, and removing therefrom the solvent, to finally obtain polymer coated solid particles. The polymer-coated powder thus obtained is useful for application to various substrates by fluidized bed coating, electrostatic spraying, or electrophoretic deposition, followed by sintering to form films.
