Envelope or bag blanks are first held on a cutter roller 9 (Fig. 1), by suction applied to ports 101, 11 1 , 12 1 within several closed window cutting knives 10, 11, 12, and the portions cut away (by co-operation of a counter roller) are subsequently ejected by air blown from the ports. The timing of the supply of suction and pressure can be varied for each knife independently, e.g. by rotary valves 30 1 , 31 1 , 32 1 leading to the supply of suction and pressure. The position of a guide on the cutting roller for the leading edges of the blanks can be varied. The guide may comprise a blade 49 (Fig. 6, not shown), or a row of ports 38 (Fig. 1), alternately fed with suction and with pressure and carried by a sleeve 18 which can be adjusted about the circumference of the roller 9. The positions of the knives on the roller 9 are adjustable.

    摘要: A machine for punching blanks (10) of corrugated cardboard out of a web or plates of corrugated cardboard and for forming folding lines (5) in said blanks. The machine has two cylinders (2, 3) rotating towards each other and of which at least one cylinder is provided on the outer surface with a curved wooden plate (6). The punching tools and the folding line tools (8, 9) are mounted on said wooden plate by being pressed into slits in said wooden plate (6). The cylinders (2, 3) are made of metal, preferably steel. The wooden plate (6) is secured to the cylinder (2, 3) by being screwed (15) thereon. The wooden plate is centred on the cylinder by means of two adjustable rings (4) on the cylinder. Each ring (4) is provided with an axially directed guide projection (4a, 4b) adapted to interact with an end notch (6a, 6b) in the wooden plate. In this way, it is rendered possible in a very simple way to centre the wooden plate and consequently the punching tool in relation to the vertical centre plane of the cylinder.

    摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for producing window envelopes from preformed windowless envelopes. Front and rear wall portions of a preformed envelope are separated, and a window opening is punched in one of the wall portions. A transparent window pane is located in the interior of the preformed envelope between the separated wall portions by a flexible carrier web and is removed from the carrier web within the interior of the envelope by passing the carrier web over a guide plate which abruptly changes the direction of travel of the carrier web. the window pane is removed from the carrier web and affixed to the interior surface of the one wall portion as the envelope is removed from the punching dies. The window panes are adhesively secured to the carrier web in longitudinally spaced apart relation, and the carrier web is fed into and out of the envelope in a direction substantially parallel to the wall of the envelope to which the window pane is to be affixed.
