Abstract: A trailer monitoring system is provided herein. The system includes an imager configured to image a scene rearward of a vehicle and containing a target disposed on a trailer attached to the vehicle. The imager is configured separate the images into a first portion and a second portion. A display is configured to display the first portion of images. A controller is configured to analyze the second portion of images, adjust an image capture setting of the imager based on a status input, and modify each image in the second portion to increase the size of the imaged target relative to the total size of the captured image to determine at least one trailer related information.

Abstract: Signals usable to determine a path of a vehicle towards a particular stopping point in a vicinity of a destination are detected from an individual authorized to provide guidance with respect to movements of the vehicle. Based at least in part on the signals and a data set pertaining to the external environment of the vehicle, one or more vehicular movements to be implemented to proceed along the path are identified. A directive is transmitted to a motion control subsystem of the vehicle to initiate one of the vehicular movements.

Abstract: A vehicle includes at least one image capture device and a user display configured to display images receive from the at least one image capture device. The vehicle also includes a controller programmed to generate a user prompt to set a home vehicle position in response the vehicle entering a first parked state. The controller is also programmed to store at least one reference image indicative of an area in a vicinity of the vehicle corresponding to the home vehicle position. The controller is further programmed to collect a current image corresponding to a current vehicle position in response to a subsequent approach toward the vicinity, and compare the current image to the reference image. The controller is further programmed to generate a user display depicting the vicinity, the current vehicle position, and the home vehicle position.

Abstract: A backup assist system for a vehicle and trailer combination includes a vehicle steering system, a camera generating images of the trailer, and a controller. The controller processes sequential images the trailer, selects a baseline image, and determines a collision angle based on a location of a feature of the trailer in the baseline image. The controller further controls the steering system to maintain a hitch angle below a lesser of a maximum controllable angle and the collision angle.
