摘要: A mounting device for use with a printed circuit board solder machine having a pair of conveyors, where the printed circuit board is disposed between the conveyors for transport through the solder machine includes a body having a top and bottom portion. The top portion of the body includes structure for connecting the body to one of the pair of conveyors. A pair of spaced apart fingers extend between the top portion and the bottom portion of the body. The fingers are breakable when a predetermined pressure is exerted on the body to prevent damaged fingers from interfering with the operation of the solder machine. Structure is further provided on the fingers for grasping a printed circuit board.

摘要: A conveyor system for conveying an article has an upper portion and a lower portion below the upper portion. The conveyor system comprises a guide mechanism configured for engaging the upper portion of the article in a manner so that the article is suspended from the guide mechanism. The guide mechanism is further configured for guiding the article in its suspended orientation along a conveyor pathway defined by the guide mechanism, the conveyor pathway having a lateral curve. The conveyor system further includes at least one air nozzle for connection to a source of pressurized air. The air nozzle is oriented for directing a stream of air in a direction generally adjacent the lateral curve and in a manner such that the stream of air blows against the lower portion of the article when the article is moving along the lateral curve of the conveyor pathway to counter inertial forces which tend to cause the article to deviate from the conveyor pathway.

摘要: The present invention provides a conveyorized system for weighing and labeling products in packages and having multiple conveyor sections each of which is driven by an individual variable speed motor. A computer is supplied and connected to each of the variable speed motors. The computer contains data relating speed of operating each motor for a particular package style in the computer memory. An operator inputs a package code to the computer, which locates the package information stored in memory and signals the variable speed motors as to the desired speed for each conveyor. Similar information is maintained in the computer memory for each package as to dimensions, such that the computer signal output includes commands to several servo motors which are connected to adjust spacing between vertical control belts to accommodate the package and the positioning of a label applicator to suit. A further control involves a pair of sensors placed near the exit of the system to detect a blockage of package flow and, through computer programmed analysis, command an input conveyor to adjust operating speed accordingly.

摘要: Container handling apparatus includes container speed adjusting apparatus which cooperates with drive apparatus to sequentially deliver a plurality of containers into contact with the container speed adjusting apparatus. The container speed adjusting apparatus has one or more resiliently compressible components which facilitate alteration of the translational speed of the container, as well as alteration of the rotation thereof. Among the preferred approaches to providing such resiliently compressible means are to have endless belts supported and driven by primary pulleys with secondary resiliently compressible pulleys in engagement with the belt and disposed between the primary pulleys. The endless belts may be provided with specifically configurated resiliently deformable portions, such as weakened portions in the belt, openings in the belt, or radially outwardly projecting elements. In general, a pair of container speed adjusting apparatus units will be employed and will be so spaced that the size of the path therebetween is less than the diameter of the container at the point where the container speed adjusting apparatus will contact the container. If desired, both container speed adjusting apparatus units may have essentially the same construction. In one embodiment, a resiliently compressible wheel is provided in lieu of one or both of the units having the endless belts. In a preferred practice, the container speed adjusting apparatus is employed to reduce the translational speed and rotation of the containers which may be bottles or jars made of plastic or glass.

摘要: A computer is used for generating a part inspection plan for a coordinate measuring machine (CMM), in a feature-based rapid design system (RDS), having a Feature-Based Design Environment (FBDE), an Episodal Associative Memory (EAM), Fabrication Planning (FAB), and an Inspection Plan (INSP), with features which include form features (D1) which define the form or shape of the part, manufacturing features (D2), inspection features (D3), and geometric and design (GD&T) features (D4). The Inspection Plan (INSP) includes interaction means wherein the inspector interacts with the system to guide it to a desired result, and the inspector can define setups, measurement points, sequence for the points, and the via points. For the inspector's sequence input, a learning process is included, so that the inspector's desired sequence is sent to discovery means for organizing patterns and defining rules, which by recalling relevant past experiences, and learning from the inspector's input, creates a "self-improving" expert system.
