Additionally, the total dissolved solids level of the water may be limited to less than 100 ppm and phosphate to less than 0.1 ppm.

摘要: A process performed by a plant for oxidation of a waste stream with oxidizable material is described. In a start-up phase, supercritical water is fed to a supercritical water oxidation reactor, heating the process up to supercritical conditions. In a treatment phase, the waste stream is fed to the reactor for supercritical water oxidation treatment, in which sufficient mass of water under supercritical conditions is present in the reactor to retain supercritical conditions with the newly introduced waste stream. Oxygen is used as oxidant and a stoichiometric quantum is added to the reactor. The energy released from the oxidation reaction substitutes the energy provided by the addition of supercritical water up to a point where the reactor achieves near autothermal conditions with supercritical water providing trim heat requirement. The reactor outlet is quench cooled, neutralised and energy is recovered from it. A gas liquid separator ensures that the effluent stream is degassed.

摘要: A filtration membrane coating comprising a hydrophilic polymer, a surfactant, and one or more charged compounds, each containing one or more sulfonate functionalities and one or more linkable functionalities selected from the group consisting of amine, monochlorotriazine, and dichlorotriazine. The hydrophilic polymer and surfactant form a thin primer layer which is also superhydrophilic. The primer layer improves flux, and enables improved adhesion of the one or more charged compounds, which form a charged dye layer on top of the primer layer when enhances rejection of charged divalent ions. The coating can be applied while the membrane is packaged in its final form, such as in a spiral wound or other configuration.

摘要: Methods of employing peroxycarboxylic acid compositions for the prevention of scale formation and in some embodiments the removal of existing scale are disclosed. In particular, the scale inhibition properties of percarboxylic acids of varying chain lengths including C1-C22 provide effective scale inhibition and scale removal or destruction. Methods of employing peroxycarboxylic acid compositions for scale inhibition and/or removal are particularly well suited for treating fluids intended to flow through pipes, namely in the energy industry, water and paper industries, etc. The methods provide suitable scale inhibition replacements and/or additives to known scale inhibitors.

摘要: This invention relates in general to a system for treating hard water encountered in aircraft potable water equipment; such as hot water heaters and, more particularly, to the prevention of scale deposits in aircraft lavatory and galley heated water system components by installing a unique scale reduction system. The scale reduction system generally comprised of a housing with a modular cartridge inserted therein. The cartridge is porous and contains a chemical composition within its inner cavity, and this chemical composition is mixed with untreated inlet fluid flow so that the outlet flow is of a sufficiently diluted concentration. Various chemical compositions may be utilized to counteract any number of conditions that affect potable water equipment and, in one embodiment, a water softening agent is utilized to combat scale build-up in aircraft plumbing.

摘要: The invention provides an electrode comprising a substrate and a coating on the substrate. The coating comprises a plurality of layers, including the following layers in sequence moving outwardly from the substrate: a base layer comprising an oxide of a valve metal; a lower layer comprising an oxide of a platinum group metal and/or an oxide of a precious metal; and a mixed oxide primary layer comprising both: (i) an oxide of a platinum group metal and/or an oxide of a precious metal, and (ii) an oxide of a valve metal and/or an oxide of a group 15 metal. The base layer is devoid of any platinum group metal oxide, and the lower layer is devoid of any valve metal oxide. The present invention also provides methods of manufacturing such electrodes. Also provide are methods of using an electrochemical cell equipped with a certain multilayer coated electrode.
