Abstract:
The present invention provides a hermetic or open compressor for hydrocarbon refrigerant having high reliability. According to the present invention, in the compressor using hydrocarbon as refrigerant, synthetic oil such as polyalkylene glycol oil, ester oil or ether oil is used as freezer oil. Sliding member of the compressor includes both a portion made of aluminum material and a portion made of iron material. Therefore, it is possible to realize a compressor having excellent wear resistance and high reliability.

Abstract:
A rotary internal combustion engine and particularly an improved rotor construction for such engine and method of making is disclosed. A coating system is applied at least to the flank surfaces of the rotor which face the variable volume combustion chambers of the engine, the system serving to reduce heat flow to the oil lubrication system within the rotor and to quench heat build-up on the above surfaces to prevent pre-ignition. The engine is permitted to run at a somewhat higher operating temperature resulting in increased efficiency, better fuel consumption and reduction of emissions. In the method of construction, vaporizing means is employed to supply vaporizable material from two crucibles. The means can be controlled to deposit one or a mixture of said vaporizable materials. One crucible contains an adherent conductive metal and the other crucible contains an insulating medium. The vaporizing means is controlled to deposit a first layer consisting of the adherent conductive metal, a second layer consisting of a mixture of the insulating medium and adherent conductive metal, a third layer consisting essentially of an insulating medium, a fourth layer consisting essentially of a mixture of the adherent metal and insulating medium, and a fifth layer consisting of solely the adherent conductive metal.
Abstract:
A pump shaft (10; 12) and a pump member (16; 18) mountable on the shaft for rotation with the shaft have respective contact surfaces that contact when the pump member is mounted on the shaft. At least one of the contact surfaces is formed such that corrosion products of the surface are substantially incompatible with the other contact surface so that joining of the shaft and pump member at the contact surfaces by corrosion is substantially prevented. The pump shaft and pump member may be parts of a dry pump.

An axial piston machine includes a housing having a casting which is optimized with respect to casting. An insert ring which is optimized with respect to a pressure load is formed in the bottom of the housing. The insert ring is configured to be used with such an axial piston machine.
Abstract:
A nodular graphite cast iron, a method for fabricating a vane for a rotary compressor using nodular graphite cast iron, and a vane for a rotary compressor using the same are provided. The nodular graphite cast iron includes 3.4 wt % to 3.9 wt % of carbon (C), 2.0 wt % to 3.0 wt % of silicon (Si), 0.3 wt % to 1.0 wt % of manganese (Mn), 0.1 wt % to 1.0 wt % of chromium (Cr), 0.04 wt % to 0.15 wt % of titanium (Ti), less than 0.08 w % of phosphorus (P), less than 0.025 wt % of sulphur (S), 0.03 wt % to 0.05 wt % of magnesium (Mg), 0.02 wt % to 0.04 wt % of rare earth resource, iron (Fe) and impurities as the remnants, and includes a bainite matrix structure, nodular graphite, and 15 vol % to 35 vol % of carbide.
Abstract:
A single screw compressor structure includes a screw rotor and a casing, which houses the screw rotor. A tapered outer circumferential surface of the screw rotor has a plurality of helical grooves, with an outer diameter that increases from an inlet side toward a discharge side. The casing includes an outer tube member having a circular inner hole to form an interior, and an inner tube member is fixed to the interior of the outer tube member. The inner tube member has a tapered inner surface that opposes the tapered outer circumferential surface of the screw rotor. A single screw compressor further including a gate rotor is assembled by adjusting mesh between the screw rotor and the gate rotor, aligning the tapered outer and inner circumferential surfaces relative to one another, and integrally coupling the outer and inner tube members to each other.
Abstract:
A refrigerant compressor includes a compression unit having a roller and a vane for compressing refrigerant. The vane has a film having first to fourth layers on its metallic base member. The first layer is made of chromium. The second layer is made of chromium and tungsten-carbide. The third layer is made of metal-containing amorphous-carbon containing at least tungsten or tungsten-carbide. The fourth layer is made of non-metal-containing amorphous-carbon containing carbon and hydrogen. In the second layer, chromium content-rate on a first-layer side is larger than on a third-layer side, and tungsten-carbide content-rate on the third-layer side is larger than on the first-layer side. In the third layer, content-rate of the at least tungsten or tungsten-carbide on a second-layer side is larger than on a fourth-layer side. The roller with which an end-edge of the vane slidably-contacts is made of flake graphite cast iron containing molybdenum, nickel and chromium.
