Abstract:
An up/down motion detecting apparatus for a hi-hat, which is capable of detecting up/down motions of the hi-hat irrespective of a type of the hi-hat. An interlocked portion moves in response to up/down motions of the hi-hat mounted on an extension rod that constitutes a hi-hat stand. A seat unit does not move in response to up/down motions of the hi-hat. A sensor is provided on the seat unit. A connecting portion connects the interlocked portion and the sensor together and converts up/down motions of the interlocked portion into motions detectable by the sensor.
Abstract:
A sound control device capable of allowing a user to perceive sound by physical tension and relaxation is provided. The sound control device may include an interface portion 15 for receiving a load input indicating a load size perceived by a user due to user operation; and a control portion 50 for outputting a sound to a speaker 40 corresponding to the load input received by the interface portion 15. The control portion 50 may output a dominant tone sound to the speaker 40 in a first state where the size of the load indicated by the load input is larger than a predefined size. The control portion 50 may output a tonic tone sound to the speaker 40 in a second state where the size of the load indicated by the load input has decreased to less than the predefined size of the first state.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for choreographing movement of individuals for a performance event are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method includes providing a performance event configuration having a plurality of location indicators to assist in the placing or movement of individuals conducting a performance event. The method also includes providing each individual with a wireless audio unit and transmitting body movement instruction signals to the audio units of each individual. In this embodiment, the wireless audio unit may be a wireless, cellular, or mobile telephone. The audio units are configured to receive the signals and to play audio directions for each individual that correspond to choreographed and coordinated body movements directly the individuals at, towards or away from the location indicators to carry out the performance event.
Abstract:
A user interface implemented on a touch-sensitive display for a virtual musical instrument comprising a plurality of chord touch regions configured in a predetermined sequence, each chord touch region corresponding to a chord in a musical key and being divided into a plurality of separate touch zones, the plurality of chord touch regions defining a predetermined set of chords, where each of the plurality of separate touch zones in each region is associated with one or more preselected MIDI files stored in a computer-readable medium. In some embodiments, the touch zones are configured to provide different harmonic configurations of a base chord associated with the chord touch region. Some harmonic configurations provide progressively wider harmonic ranges across each adjacent touch zone. Other harmonic configurations can provide chords with a progressively higher relative pitch across each adjacent touch zone.
Abstract:
This method of converting a displacement of a magnetic object into a signal directly perceptible by a human being, comprises: —the acquisition (32) of a temporal succession of measurements of a magnetic field modified by the displacements of the object during a sliding time window of predetermined duration, —the construction (34) on the basis of this acquired temporal succession of measurements of several signals each representing a characteristic of the measured magnetic field dependent on a corresponding characteristic of the displacement of the object, and —the adjustment (50) of several parameters of the directly perceptible signal as a function of the signals so as to render these characteristics directly perceptible.
Abstract:
Systems, apparatus, methods, and articles of manufacture provide for determining one or more chords and/or music notes to output (e.g., via a mobile device) based on a direction of movement and/or a speed of movement (e.g., of a mobile device). In some embodiments, determining a music note for output may comprise determining whether a speed of a mobile device has increased, decreased, or remained constant.
Abstract:
An adaptive music playback system is disclosed. The system includes a composition system that receives information corresponding to user activity levels. The composition system modifies the composition of a song in response to changes in user activity. The modifications are made according to a set of composition rules to facilitate smooth musical transitions.
Abstract:
Various embodiments are provided generally relating to providing a strum pad on a user device. In some embodiments, a musical arrangement may be provided on a user device. A score of the musical arrangement may be tracked as it plays. In some embodiments, gestures may be detected on the user device while the user device plays the musical arrangement. In response to detecting the gesture, a component piece for the musical arrangement may be outputted. In some embodiments, the outputted component piece may correspond to the tracked score of the musical arrangement.
Abstract:
An input apparatus including: a first operation detecting section provided on a first operating section which detects acceleration and angular speed based on movement of the first operating section; a second operation detecting section provided on a second operating section which detects acceleration and angular speed based on movement of the second operating section; a judging section which judges whether or not the first and second operating sections have been held together, based on the accelerations and the angular speeds detected by the first and second operation detecting sections; a detecting section which detects a change operation based on the accelerations and the angular speeds detected by the first and second operation detecting sections, when the judging section judges that the first and second operating sections have been held together; and a changing section which changes a predetermined parameter in accordance with the change operation detected by the detecting section.
Abstract:
Provided is a program for musical performance which causes a computer of a musical performance apparatus to function as a posture variation acquisition unit 101 for acquiring the posture variation of a controller 5 per frame based on the angular velocity with respect to the posture or movement of the controller 5, a volume parameter setting unit 102 for setting a volume parameter for deciding the volume according to the posture variation, and a sound signal output unit 106 for outputting a sound signal of the volume according to the volume parameter.
