    摘要: An engine assembly includes an engine structure, a camshaft supported on the engine structure, a first cam phaser coupled to a first axial end of the camshaft, and a locating pin. The camshaft includes a first shaft, a second shaft, a first cam lobe and a second cam lobe. The first shaft defines a first opening. The second shaft is supported within the first shaft and defines a second opening. The first cam lobe is located on and fixed for rotation with the first shaft. The second cam lobe may be located on the first shaft and fixed for rotation with the second shaft. During assembly, the first cam phaser is located on the camshaft and the locating pin may be inserted through the first and second openings to rotationally fix the first and second shafts. The first cam phaser is then secured to the camshaft.

    摘要: An internal combustion piston engine having gas exchange valves actuated by cams of a camshaft. The cams are sliding cams having two cams per sliding cam unit situated on a basic shaft in rotationally fixed fashion but axially displaceable. At least one actuator unit has two actuator pins for displacing the sliding cam units into different axial positions using displacement grooves on the circumference of the sliding cam units, the grooves being helical and situated mirror-symmetrically, and having an ejection ramp for the actuator pins. The actuator pins are spring-loaded toward the sliding cam unit and, in retracted positions, can be fixed by arresting devices, which have control needles that correspond to clamping bodies of locking devices. These needles are actuatable by an electromagnet unit, with the control needles being connected with a needle bridge. A pin engages the needle bridge, and the pin is controlled by the electromagnet unit.

    摘要: A valve train for an internal combustion engine for actuating gas exchange valves includes a camshaft in the form of a camshaft tube driven by a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine. A selector shaft is disposed in the camshaft tube. A surface of the selector shaft includes a shifting contour having an axial gradient. At least one cam carrier is disposed on the camshaft and axially displaceable but rotationally fixed with respect to the camshaft. Each cam carrier includes an identical base-circle portion and a plurality of cam profiles. A rotationally fixed but axially displaceable shifting sleeve is disposed between the camshaft tube and the rotatable selector shaft of each cam carrier. Each shifting sleeve includes a hole. A shilling ball is disposed in the hole of each shifting sleeve. The shifting ball is coupled with the shifting contour of the selector shaft so as to be guided by the selector shaft so as to axially displace the shifting sleeve by rotation of the selector shaft. The shifting sleeve is operatively connected to the cam carrier via at least a driver for axial displacement of the cam carrier.

    摘要: A camshaft assembly for an internal combustion engine has a hollow outer shaft with slots along its length and an inner shaft with holes along its length. The holes on the inner shaft are aligned with the slots on the outer shaft. A first set of cam lobes are fixed to the outer shaft and a second set of cam lobes are placed on the slots of outer shaft with a clearance fit. A means fixes the second set of cam lobes to the inner shaft, while simultaneously allowing the second set of cam lobes to be a clearance fit to the outer shaft. The means fixing the second set of cam lobes to the inner shaft may be a hollow pin which is hydroformed or a rivet insert which is expanded by insertion, pulling, and removal of a threaded rod.
