    摘要: A fluid actuated power device which includes a reciprocal cylinder rotatably mounted on a central, tubular shaft for back-and-forth movement along the shaft between a pair of end support members. The cylinder has first and second sets of spiral grooves on its outer surface, the first set of spiral grooves being in mesh with the spiral teeth of a first ratchet gear and the second set of spiral grooves being in mesh with the spiral teeth of a second ratchet gear, the ratchet gears being carried by a cylindrical body fixed relative to the shaft. The ratchet gears permit the cylinder to rotate only in one direction relative to and about the shaft as the cylinder moves back and forth along the length of the shaft. The cylinder is coupled by spline means to a gear assembly which, in turn, is connected to a rotatable second shaft, the latter serving as a power takeoff means which can be connected to external work-producing apparatus. A piston within the cylinder and rigid to the central part of the first-mentioned shaft allows a fluid under pressure to be alternately applied to the two chambers of the cylinder on opposite sides of the piston to thereby cause the back and forth movement of the cylinder relative to the shaft. A 4-way valve communicates with the opposite ends of the shaft to sequentially connect the chambers to a fluid pressure source and to the atmosphere.

    摘要: A stacker crane storage arrangement wherein a tray is supported for reversible extension transversely of a tower which is movable on a track, so as to deposit cargo laden pallets in cells or cubicles of open sides storage grids on both sides of the track. The tray of the tower is movable by a compact mechanism, utilizing telescopically and reversibly extending drive members carried by pairs of cantilever beams and driven by sprocket chains and hydraulic cylinders in a dual system which effects reversible motion of a tray to either side of the tower. The telescopic tray mechanism provides for moving a cargo laden tray to either a part distance or a full distance transversely of the tower, so that pallets can be stored in or retrieved from double depth storage grids. The specific racks or cells can hold two pallets in tandem, there being a first pallet position and a second pallet position in each cell. The arrangement and construction has features whereby very tall towers are usable.

    摘要: A linear thruster comprising a housing supporting a power cylinder and piston, a thrust plate operated by said power cylinder and a pair of precision guide shafts slidably mounted in parallel bearings in the housing and attached to the thrust plate. The guide shafts insure that the thrust plate is moved very accurately in the desired direction. The guide shafts also resist torsional, lateral and tilting loads placed on the thrust plate. The cylinder is secured to the housing by a mounting means that permits a small amount of relative motion by the cylinder with respect to the housing. In one embodiment, the mounting means comprises a rubberized fabric sandwiched between a mounting surface on the housing and a spring plate. The retainer has an opening into which the cylinder fits, while the mounting surface and spring plate each have an opening of radius slightly larger than the radius of the cylinder, through which the cylinder extends. The spring plate and retainer are fastened to the housing. The cylinder is thus attached to the retainer which in turn is attached to the housing. In another embodiment the cylinder passes through an opening in a spring plate which is slightly larger than the diameter of the cylinder. The spring plate is attached to the frame, and the cylinder is loosely attached to the spring plate by a collar and nut. These systems allow the cylinder a slight amount of movement to provide compensation for inaccuracies in piston and cylinder manufacture, as well as outside loads.
