    摘要: A system for enhanced ratio control in a continuously variable transmission (CVT) includes a ratio control element positionable by an actuator in response to an actuator command to establish various CVT ratios in the CVT. At least one sensor generates a train of pulses indicative of speed of rotation of a predetermined rotary member of the CVT. A measured CVT ratio generator derives information of an actual CVT ratio out of at least the train of pulses to give a measured value of CVT ratio. A filter processes the measured value of CVT ratio in a manner to refine the information of the actual CVT ratio to give an estimated value of CVT ratio. A command generator determines the actuator command such that the actuator command remains unaltered when a deviation of the estimated value of CVT ratio from a desired value of CVT ratio stays within a dead zone. A filter and command generator manager narrows the dead zone to meet precision requirement upon determination that the desired value of CVT ratio has been accomplished and adjusts filter gain at the filter in a manner to keep amplitude at frequency of noise that is contained in the measured value of CVT ratio within the narrowed dead zone.

    摘要: An infinitely variable belt-type transmission for an agricultural machine or the like includes drive and driven pulleys and a pair of inversely variable diameter pulleys mounted on a shaft that is shiftable to vary the diameter of the pulleys and consequently the drive ratio of the transmission. The inner halves of the adjacent variable diameter pulleys are drivingly connected through a cam that exerts a force on the inner pulley halves tending to increase the pulley diameters and thereby increase the belt tension in response to an increase in torque transmitted through the transmission, and the shiftable pulley half on at least one of the pulleys is splined to its mating half so that the shifting movement in response to the torque increase results only in axial motion of the shiftable pulley half.

    摘要: The present invention provides a control unit for use with a variable speed system for dispersing, milling or otherwise processing solid particles in liquid. The apparatus used in the system includes a fixed center-drive pulley combination. The control unit automatically resets the pulley combination to a slow start-up position to prevent damage to the system drive train during initiation of a processing operation. In addition, the control unit allows a system operator to precisely and safely adjust the setting of the pulley combination to control the speed of the processing operation. In one arrangement the speed is controlled by manually operated valves that control fluid pressure on opposite sides of a piston that controls the pulley combination. In another arrangement, valves automatically control fluid pressure on the piston to maintain a position in response to a signal from a pressure regulator which is manually or otherwise adjusted to provide a selected speed.

    摘要: A control apparatus for use of a continuously variable transmission. The apparatus controls a rate of changing a RPM ratio in a continuously variable transmission connected to the engine. The transmission has a driving pulley mounted on an input shaft a driven pulley mounted on an output shaft, and an endless belt member spanning the pulleys so that an effective diameter of the pulleys can be varied at different rates with regard to each other so that different speed ratios can be obtained. When a prompt acceleration of a vehicle is required by an operator, a flow control device drains an amount of oil in a hydraulic cylinder of the driving pulley within a first prescribed time period. During a second prescribed time period after the first prescribed time period elapses, a second control device stops the draining of oil in the hydraulic cylinder, thereby maintaining a RPM ratio in a continuously variable transmission to the value at the time when the first prescribed time period elapses.
