Abstract:
A control system for a motor vehicle has a continuously variable transmission, a transmission ratio control system for controlling the transmission ratio, and a cruise control system for controlling speed of the vehicle to a desired cruising speed. A resume switch is provided for producing an acceleration signal during cruising of the vehicle. In response to the acceleration signal, a throttle valve of the engine is opened, and the transmission ratio is downshifted by a predetermined value.
Abstract:
A system for controlling a friction clutch of a motor vehicle having a continuously variable transmission. The system has an actuator for shifting a clutch plate of the clutch. Vehicle start intention is detected in accordance with a first depression of an accelerator pedal. In response to the vehicle start intention, the actuator operates to shift the clutch plate to a partial engagement position at a maximum speed. The clutch plate is kept at the position and then the clutch plate is shifted from the partial engagement position to an entire engagement position, when the transmission is upshifted.
Abstract:
A control system for a continuously variable transmission for a motor vehicle has a transmission ratio control valve for controlling the transmission ratio. The transmission ratio is controlled in accordance with a transmission ratio changing speed. The transmission ratio changing speed is corrected with a coefficient which is determined in accordance with desired transmission ratio changing speed and the difference between desired transmission ratio and actual transmission ratio.
Abstract:
A continuously variable belt drive transmission has a torque converter with a lockup clutch. Transmission ratio of the transmission starts to change in accordance with driving conditions of a vehicle, and the lockup clutch is engaged in accordance with driving conditions of the vehicle. A start signal for starting of the changing of the transmission ratio is produced in accordance with driving conditions, and a lockup signal for engaging of the lockup clutch is produced in accordance with driving conditions. In response to the start signal and to the lockup signal the change of the transmission ratio and engaging of the lockup clutch are performed at the same time.
Abstract:
A control system for a continuously variable transmission for a motor vehicle has a transmission ratio control value for controlling the transmission ratio. The transmission ratio is controlled in accordance with a desired transmission ratio. During use of an air conditioner of the vehicle, the desired transmission ratio increases, so that necessary engine power can be obtained. The desired transmission ratio is increased by a larger value in a small transmission ratio range than a large transmission ratio range.
Abstract:
A control system has a transmission ratio control valve having a spool for controlling oil supplied to a cylinder of a drive pulley to change the transmission ratio. The transmission ratio control valve has chambers at both ends of the spool. By controlling the amount of oil supplied to the chambers in accordance with the difference between desired transmission ratio and actual transmission ratio, the spool is shifted, so that the transmission ratio changing speed is controlled. The desired transmission ratio is determined by a desired speed of input of the transmission.
Abstract:
A control system for an infinitely variable transmission has a transmission ratio control valve having a spool for controlling oil supplied to a cylinder of a drive pulley to change the transmission ratio. The transmission ratio control valve has chambers at both ends of the spool. By controlling the pressure of oil supplied to the chambers in accordance with the difference between a desired transmission ratio and the actual transmission ratio, the spool is shifted, so that the speed of changing the transmission ratio is controlled.
Abstract:
A control system for a vehicle has a continuously variable automatic transmission, an automatic transmission control system for controlling the automatic transmission, and a cruise control system for controlling speed of the vehicle to a desired cruising speed. The cruise control system has a vehicle speed sensor, and a desired cruising speed providing section responsive to an output signal of the vehicle speed sensor for providing the desired cruising speed. The vehicle speed sensor is used for both the automatic transmission control system and the cruise control system.
Abstract:
A control system for a continuously variable transmission has a transmission ratio control valve having a spool for controlling oil supplied to a cylinder of a drive pulley to change the transmission ratio. The transmission ratio control valve has chamber at both ends of the spool. By controlling the flow rate of oil supplied to the chambers in accordance with a desired transmission ratio, the spool is shifted, so that the rate of change of the transmission ratio is controlled. The transmission ratio changing rate is corrected by the rate of change of the desired transmission ratio. Two coefficients representative of the degree of throttle opening and a physical condition such as viscosity are also generated to correct the transmission ratio changing rate.
Abstract:
A control system for a continuously variable transmission for a motor vehicle has a line pressure control valve and a transmission ratio control valve, each having a spool for controlling oil supplied to a cylinder of a pulley. The transmission ratio control valve has chambers at both ends of the spool. The flow rate of oil supplied to the chambers is controlled by an on-off valve at duty ratio in accordance with a desired transmission ratio so that the spool is shifted, so that the transmission ratio changing speed is controlled. The duty ratio is corrected by line pressure, so that the transmission ratio is controlled in accordance with the line pressure.
