摘要: An automatic smoke/carbon monoxide detection system and method are described that are configured to automatically shut off power supplied to an appliance/equipment, a room of a structure, a zone within a structure, or an entire structure upon detection of smoke/carbon monoxide/hazardous gases. A system and method are further described herein that are configured to connect to an on-board diagnostic port, where upon detection of smoke/carbon monoxide/hazardous gases exceeding a certain level, an alert is displayed/sounded so that the driver/passenger of the vehicle can act appropriately. Alternatively, a command may be issued to shut off the engine of the vehicle to immediately halt the production of deadly gases.

摘要: A cabinet security assembly includes a housing that is mountable to a cabinet door such that the housing is positioned within a cabinet when the cabinet door is closed. A light emitter is coupled to the housing and the light emitter emits light outwardly from the housing when the light emitter is turned on. A receiver is coupled to and extends away from the housing. The receiver is comprised of a translucent material to pass light therethrough. The receiver insertably receives a handle of the cabinet door to transfer the light from the light receiver into the handle for ornamental purposes. A lock is movably coupled to the housing and the lock is actuatable into a locking position to engage the cabinet for locking the cabinet door in a closed position.

摘要: A smart light-emitting-diode (LED) bulb includes apparatus enabling the bulb to be turned ON, OFF, or dimmed without the use of a wall switch. Such apparatus may include circuitry responsive to rotating the LED portion of the bulb, circuitry responsive to touching or tapping on the bulb, or a Bluetooth or WiFi interconnection enabling the bulb to be controlled using a smartphone or other device executing a bulb-control application. Other apparatus may include a microphone enabling the bulb to be controlled with a voice, sound or music. In other embodiments, apparatus enabling the bulb to be turned ON, OFF, or dimmed may include a power line communication (PLC) interface enabling the bulb or bulbs to be controlled via the Internet. A camera or image sensor may be provided enabling the bulb to be gesture-controlled. A system may include a plurality of smart LED light bulbs.

摘要: Arrangements for controlling a climate control system are provided. A hazard detector of a group of smart devices may detect a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm condition at the hazard detector. The hazard detector may transmit, via a relatively low-power mesh communication network, an indication of the CO alarm condition to one or more other smart devices. A spokesman node of the relatively low-power wireless communication network may translate the indication of the CO alarm condition from a first wireless communication protocol to a second wireless communication protocol. The spokesman node may transmit the indication of the CO alarm condition to a system controller via a relatively high-power wireless communication network and the second wireless communication protocol. A system controller of the climate control system may transmit a signal to turn off at least part of the climate control system.
