摘要: A method of imparting color to a plastic substrate comprising applying to the substrate, or incorporating within the substrate, a diacetylene compound of general formula (I) wherein n=1 to 20; R1=an optionally substituted C1-20 alkyl group which may contain heteroatoms; T=H, an optionally substituted C1-20 alkyl group which may contain heteroatoms or —(CH2)m—C(═O)-Q2R2; Q1=NH, CO, NHCONH, OCONH, COS, NHCSNH or NR3, wherein m, Q2 and R2 are independently selected from the same groups as n, Q1 and R1 respectively; R3 is an optionally substituted C1-20 alkyl group which may contain heteroatoms; and irradiating the substrate to impart color to the substrate is described.

摘要: A color developing composition which develops colors in a high density and does not significantly discolor when aged, a lithographic printing plate precursor which has excellent plate-inspecting properties by means of color development and is capable of maintaining strong color development even when aged after color development, a plate making method for a lithographic printing plate in which the lithographic printing plate precursor is used, and a new compound that can be preferably used as a color developer. The color developing composition of the present invention includes a compound represented by Formula 1. The compound in the present invention is represented by Formula 1. In Formula 1, R1 represents a group in which an R1—O bond is cleaved by heat or exposure to infrared rays.

摘要: A container is disclosed which may be used with fluids sensitive to light of one or more known wavelengths. The container may be formed of a thermochromic material or including a thermochromic coating. The properties of the thermochromic material or coating may be selected so as to be transparent to light of the wavelength to which the fluid is sensitive at a first temperature and to be opaque to that wavelength of light at a second temperature. While a technician is handling the container, the container is controlled to be at the first temperature. When the technician is finished, the container is controlled to move to the second temperature to protect the fluid within the container.

摘要: To provide an information writable film that is chemical and abrasion resistance, and is suitable for high contrast white laser marking. The information writable film comprises a writable film layer 110 and a reading assistance layer 120. The writable film layer 110 is formed into a film shape by thinly stretching a material, which material is a mixture of a color former composition for coloring white when receiving the particular wavelength laser beam by changing its physical and chemical characteristic and a transparent plastic composition. The reading assistance layer 120 is provided enhancing the contrast ratio. The writable film layer 110 is provided with laser coloring properties and chemical and abrasion resistance. During writing, an identification code is written by laser by coloring the color former in the writable film layer 110. During reading, the contrast ratio is enhanced by superimposing the color of the reading assistance layer 120.

摘要: An aqueous radiation curable dispersant formulation includes water and styrene acrylic resin stabilized thioxanthone derivative photoinitiator particles dispersed in the water. The styrene acrylic resin stabilized thioxanthone derivative photo initiator particles have a volume-weighted mean diameter of less than 40 nm. The styrene acrylic resin stabilized thioxanthone derivative photo initiator particles include a water-insoluble, thioxanthone derivative photoinitiator core having one, two, or three units. When the water-insoluble, thioxanthone derivative photoinitiator core includes two units or three units, the units are covalently bonded together.

摘要: A paint composition includes a fluid and a coloring agent in the fluid. The fluid maintains the coloring agent in a first protonation state. The coloring agent exhibits a first color characteristic in the first protonation state. The paint composition includes microcapsules in the fluid. The paint composition also includes a chemical compound in the microcapsules. Rupture of at least a portion of the microcapsules is configured to release the chemical compound and expose the coloring agent to the chemical compound. Exposure of the coloring agent to the chemical compound changes the coloring agent from the first protonation state with the first color characteristic to a second protonation state with a second color characteristic. The second color characteristic is visually distinct from the first color characteristic.

摘要: A document which may be a security document has a thermochromic coating which may be a thermochromic ink on the substrate of the document. The ink may include several thermochromic materials which transition from various different colors to substantially clear in appearance as the ink is warmed to various temperatures. The combination of the colors of the thermochromic materials can give the document a different color at a number of different temperatures, until the coating is warmed to the highest color change point. When at or above the highest color change temperature, the coating becomes substantially transparent and the printed area assumes the color of the underlying substrate. The coating may also include non-reactive materials of yet another color that mixes with the colors of the thermochromic materials. The document may additionally include printed indicia on the substrate that are masked by the thermochromic materials at certain temperatures, and not masked by the thermochromic materials at other temperatures.

摘要: An in-mold transfer film includes a release layer, a scent-emitting hard layer, a color-changing print layer and an adhesive layer formed sequentially in one direction on one side of a base layer, wherein the scent-emitting hard layer includes aromatic microcapsules, and the color-changing print layer changes its color according to the temperature. An method for manufacturing an in-mold transfer film includes the following steps: forming a release layer on one side of a base layer; forming a scent-emitting hard layer on an upper surface of the release layer; forming a print primer layer on an upper surface of the scent-emitting hard layer; forming a color-changing print layer formed on an upper surface of the print primer layer; forming an adhesive primer layer on an upper surface of the color-changing print layer; and forming an adhesive layer on an upper surface of the adhesive primer layer.

摘要: A microencapsulated pigment including a leuco dye system is incorporated as one or more layers in a roll of adhesive tape. The tape is applied and may be rubbed by hand or another object to induce a color change. The change may serve as an indicator that the tape is well adhered for masking purposes in a painting operation, or to present a design where only selected portions of the tape are rubbed to induce the color change. The microencapsulated pigment may be constructed so that the color change is irreversible or reversible.
