    摘要: An overfeed roller assembly for use on a rotating drive shaft of a textile machine is adapted for adjusting downstream tension in a continuous moving length of yarn. The overfeed roller assembly comprises a base assembly designed for mounting on the drive shaft, and an annular yarn tension adjuster carried by the base assembly. The tension adjuster comprises opposing closely spaced yarn-contacting walls. The yarn-contacting walls define a shallow generally serpentine depression in the tension adjuster adapted for receiving the continuous moving length of yarn. Yarn tension downstream of the roller assembly is thereby reduced as the moving yarn meanders through the tension adjuster in frictional contact with the yarn-contacting walls of the serpentine depression.

    摘要: The present invention is a wire puller, which pulls line through conduit, by employing the motor force of a standard right-angle power drill, and an operator to keep the line frictionally coupled to a spool on the wire puller. The apparatus consists of a stand and a frame, onto which is mounted a drive shaft, one end of which is sized to receive the jaws of a standard right-angle power drill. A drill restraining mechanism, also mounted onto the frame, allows the power drill to be positioned, such that actuating the drill turns the drive shaft, without requiring the wire puller operator to hold the drill, and without requiring the wire puller operator to continually depress the drill trigger switch.

    摘要: A vibration control device for a rotating machine in which a primary yoke is provided within a hollow space of a secondary yoke so that the secondary yoke rotates about a shaft inserted through the primary yoke. A plurality of electromagnet portions are arranged around a peripheral surface of the primary yoke and there are a pair of sensors and a control portion. The electromagnet portions include at least a pair of first and second electromagnet portions and another pair of third and fourth electromagnet portions. The first and second electromagnet portions so arranged opposite to each other with respect to an X-axis direction, while the third and fourth electromagnet portions are arranged opposite to each other with respect to a Y-axis direction. One sensor detects a positional displacement between the primary and secondary yokes with respect to the X-axis direction, while another sensor detects a positional displacement between the primary and secondary yokes with respect to the Y-axis direction. A positional displacement detected by one sensor is controlled to be reduced by controlling electric current supplied to the first and second electromagnet portions, while a positional displacement detected by another sensor is controlled to be reduced by controlling electric current supplied to the third and fourth electromagnet portions. By electromagnetically controlling the positional displacement between the primary and secondary yokes with respect to each of the axial directions, vibration of the shaft is reduced.

The discs are resiliently biased toward each other at the yarn advancing zone, and so that the discs are adapted to engage and advance a yarn which is guided through the advancing zone, without substantial slippage.

    摘要: A multi-purpose yarn feeding device for knitting machines is described which includes a number of co-axially arranged rotary members which correspond to the number of yarns fed to the respective feeding station, each rotary member being provided with a frictionally yarn engaging circumferential periphery. Adjustably positionable eyelet guides are arranged to guide the incoming yarns towards and guide the outgoing yarns from the circumferential peripheries of the associated rotary members to result in yarn portions being in contact with preselected arcuate lengths of the circumferential periphery to thereby impart selected tractions to the yarns. A spring member having a fixed end and a hook for engaging a yarn portion is movable generally in the plane of an associated rotary member for selectively pulling away the yarn portion from the associated circumferential periphery of the rotary member. This modifies the extent of contact with the circumferential peripheries responsive to the tensions in the yarns to thereby modify the degrees of tractions imparted to the yarns and compensate for the externally applied tensions to the yarns. The feeding device can be used as a positive or compensating feeder for stripers and compensator feeder for Jaquards. Additionally, the device can also be used to feed elastomeric yarns. When the spring member is not utilized, the device can also be used as a conventional positive feeder.

A plurality of angularly spaced links are pivotally connected to each of the carriages, and have end portions pivotally and loosely connected to a plurality of angularly spaced yarn bars, which have end portions slidably disposed in a plurality of radial guide slots in the circular plates. The yarn bars jointly provide a cylinder-like configuration around which a weft yarn is to be wound and the diameter of which can be varied by rotating the spindle to move the yarn bars radially outwardly and inwardly through the links and carriages.

    摘要: A rotating yarn control element comprises a hub portion with a number of pins spaced around the periphery of the hub portion to define for the yarn a zig-zag path which degenerates with increasing distance from the axis of rotation of the element into a line path lying in a reference plane of the element. In use, with the element rotating about its axis and the yarn passing through the path defined by the guide surfaces, the total area of contact between the guide surfaces and the yarn will depend on the distance of the yarn from the axis of rotation of the element. This in turn determines whether the element operates in the "freewheeling" mode, the "positive grip" mode or the "yarn metering" mode. Other embodiments are described in which the element is formed by an injection moulding technique and the zig-zag path is presented by tooth like projections or by a channel in a drum member. A means for varying the amount of wrap around the element is also described. The elements can be used to control materials other than yarns although if they are to be used with rigid articles e.g. metal rods or tubes, then the projections presenting the guide surfaces on the element must be made of flexible material.
