摘要: A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament which, in various embodiments, comprises: (A) grinding recycled PET bottles into a group of flakes; (B) washing the flakes; (C) identifying and removing impurities, including impure flakes, from the group of flakes; (D) passing the group of flakes through an MRS extruder while maintaining the pressure within the MRS portion of the MRS extruder below about 1.5 millibars; (E) passing the resulting polymer melt through at least one filter having a micron rating of less than about 50 microns; and (F) forming the recycled polymer into bulked continuous carpet filament that consists essentially of recycled PET.

摘要: A polypropylene-polyethylene composition obtainable by blending a) 80 to 97 wt.-% of a blend (A) comprising A-1) polypropylene and A-2) polyethylene, wherein the weight ratio of polypropylene to polyethylene is from 9:1 to 13:7, and wherein blend (A) is a recycled material, which is recovered from waste plastic derived from post-consumer and/or post-industrial waste; and b) 3 to 20 wt.-% of a compatibilizer (B) being a heterophasic random copolymer comprising a random polypropylene copolymer matrix phase and an elastomer phase dispersed therein, whereby the heterophasic random copolymer has—a xylene insoluble content XCI of 65 to 88 wt.-% (ISO 16152, led, 25° C.), —a xylene soluble content XCS of 12 to 35 wt.-% (ISO 16152, led, 25° C.), the XCS fraction having an intrinsic viscosity (measured in decalin according to DIN ISO 1628/1 at 135° C.) of 1.2 dl/g to less than 3.0 dl/g, and—a flexural modulus of from 300 to 600 MPa (ISO 178, measured on injection moulded specimens, 23° C.); and wherein, the ratio of MFR2 (blend (A))/MFR2 (compatibilizer(B)) (ISO1133, 2.16 kg load), is in the range of from 1.5 to 3.5 g/10 min.

摘要: A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament that includes providing a polymer melt and separating the polymer melt from the extruder into at least eight streams. The multiple streams are exposed to a chamber pressure within a chamber that is below approximately 25 millibars, or another predetermined pressure. The streams are recombined into a single polymer stream. Polymer from the polymer stream is then formed into bulked continuous carpet filament.

摘要: A UV-curable and recyclable thermoset shape memory polymer is provided. The polymer includes a vitrimer-based monomer and a photoinitiator. The vitrimer-based monomer includes a first unit rendering a high chain stiffness upon polymerization of the monomer, and a second photopolymerizable unit for photopolymerization of the monomer under a UV irradiation. The polymer has high strength, high stiffness, high recovery stress, high energy storage, reasonable recycling efficiency, and is printable using SLA with high resolution.

摘要: A system and method for processing a supply of post-consumer scrap linear low density or low density polyethylene film into near-virgin quality blown film product. The method includes tearing the supply of film in a shredder, wherein the surface area of the film is exposed, including delaminating the film. The torn supply of film is washed in a water bath including a surfactant. The film is agitated in the bath containing the surfactant wherein contaminants on the film are removed from the film. The washed film is ground into smaller pieces and additional washing of the ground film in a rotating friction washer and a sink float tank occurs wherein additional contaminants are removed from the film. The ground film is then dried and compacted without addition of water into granulated objects of near-virgin quality blown film product.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for producing a thermoplastic polyurethane reacting at least one thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU-1) or a polyurethane mixture comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU-1) with at least one compound (V1) comprising two hydroxyl groups to obtain a mixture (G-a) comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU-2) and the reaction of the mixture (G-a) with a mixture (G-b) comprising an isocyanate composition (ZI) comprising at least one diisocyanate and optionally and a polyol composition (ZP) comprising at least one polyol (P2) to obtain a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU target), wherein the proportion of the employed components (ZI) and (ZP) is matched to the hard segment content of the employed thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU-1), (V1) and the hard segment content of the thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU target). The invention further relates to a thermoplastic polyurethane obtained or obtainable by such a process and to the use thereof for producing extruded, injection molded and pressed articles as well as foams, cable sheathings, hoses, profiles, drive belts, fibers, nonwovens, films, moldings, soles, sporting goods, shoes, plugs, housings, damping elements for the electricals industry, automotive industry, mechanical engineering, 3D printing, medicine and consumer goods.
