摘要: A locking ring assembly is provided for releasably retaining a tubular valve housing in the liquid port of a bladder-type pressure accumulator without any possibility of the valve housing being blown out from the port when a normal high pressures are attained within the accumulator shell. The locking ring assembly seats at an angle against an identical angle on the inside of the opening at the mouth of the accumulator shell so that when excessively high internal pressures are reached within the shell the ring will force the mouth of the shell to expand diametrically forcing the mouth open thus extruding an O-ring seal which releases the pressure. Thus the accumulator shell cannot burst.

摘要: This invention relates to the art of pressure vessels and more particularly to a valve assembly for use in a pressure vessel of the type having a rigid container with a deformable bladder therein, dividing the container into two variable volume chambers, one adapted to receive gas under pressure and the other to receive liquid under pressure.The valve assembly which is screwed into a port in communication with the gas chamber includes a slidably mounted stem having a resilient valve member at one end normally urged to seat on the beveled inner end of an axial bore in the valve assembly in a first seating position of the valve member, and urged further into said beveled inner end when the bladder is charged with gas under pressure in a second seating position of the valve member. The inward movement of the valve member is limited by a stop carried by the stem. When the liquid chamber is charged, if the bladder should abut against the resilient valve member, no extrusion of the bladder would occur.

摘要: This invention relates to a pressure vessel and more particularly to a pressure accumulator of the type including a rigid container having a pair of ports at its respective ends with a deformable partition or bladder therein having a mouth at one end affixed to one of said ports, said bladder separating two fluids such as gas or liquid under pressure in said container.The bladder is of the type formed from two separate sections, each substantially cup-shaped, so that when the rims of the sections are joined, a closed container will be formed.As the bladder expands t o force liquid from the other port of the container, stress will be imparted to the wall of the bladder as a result of the stretching thereof, and such bladder wall is conformed to minimize the stress that would otherwise be imparted to the junction between the two sections of the bladder.

摘要: An expansion tank is divided into two non-communicating chambers by a flexible elastomeric diaphragm having a peripheral outward projecting, sidewall engaging protrusion that is held in compressed and sealing engagement with the tank walls by a backup ring. The diaphragm-ring assembly facilitates insertion of the diaphragm, provides a positive seal, and prevents the assembly from being forced out of position by extreme pressure differentials.

摘要: This invention relates to the art of pressure vessels and more particularly to a valve assembly for use in a pressure vessel of the type having a rigid container with a deformable bladder therein, dividing the container into two variable volume chambers, one adapted to receive gas under pressure and the other to receive liquid under pressure.The valve assembly which is screwed into a port in communication with the gas chamber includes a slidably mounted stem having a resilient valve member at one end normally urged to seat on the beveled inner end of an axial bore in the valve assembly in a first seating position of the valve member, and urged further into said beveled inner end when the bladder is charged with gas under pressure in a second seating position of the valve member. The inward movement of the valve member is limited by a stop carried by the stem. When the liquid chamber is charged, if the bladder should abut against the resilient valve member, no extrusion of the bladder would occur.

摘要: This disclosure relates to the art of pressure vessels, more particularly of the type having a cylindrical container, one end of which is closed having a port, and the other end of which defines an open mouth. The container has a deformable bladder of resilient material positioned therein, said bladder having a large mouth with a thickened rim portion in which is molded the lower edge of an annular metal supporting member which extends outwardly from the rim with the free edge portion of said supporting member being secured to the rim of the mouth of the container which is closed by a suitable cover. The thickened rim of the bladder on the inner surface thereof has an inwardly extending annular bead molded integrally therewith in a plane below that of the lower edge of the supporting member to permit folding of the bladder without formation of a sharp pleat.

摘要: A gas tight housing has a first port communicating ambient air with a first interior chamber and second and third ports respectively communicating the suction line of a pulsating pump and the gas to be pumped with a second interior chamber. An elastomer bag separates the interior portion of the housing into the first and second chambers thereby sealing the chambers gas tight from one another. A spring within the elastomer bag expands the sleeve to thereby expand the second chamber and to contract the first chamber. The spring force is opposed by atmospheric pressure in the first chamber. In operation the elastomer bag remains partially collapsed, collapsing further during the pump suction stroke and expanding in the interval between suction strokes.

摘要: This invention relates to the art of pressure vessels, more particularly of the type having a rigid container with a deformable bladder therein dividing the container into two variable volume chambers, each adapted to receive fluid under pressure. A port is in communication with one of said chambers and a valve member mounted axially on the bladder and molded integrally therewith is associated with said port to close the latter. The valve member is molded into the bladder in such manner that the force exerted by the compressed gas in the bladder will exert a minimum of shearing stress against the molded junction of the valve member to the associated end of the bladder to prevent shearing. In addition, the valve member has a portion extending axially behond the molded junction thereby eliminating impact against such molded junction when the valve member seats to close the port.

摘要: A surge suppressor for use with outlet conduits of pumps, such as air-operated diaphragm pumps, having a pulsating output and other fluid conduits that are subject to surges or shock pressures. The apparatus embodies a diaphragm, one side of which is subjected to the pressure of the fluid in the conduit and the other side of which is subjected to the pressure of air within a chamber. Means are provided for automatically compensating for changes in the fluid pressure in the conduit by supplying air to the chamber if the pressure in the conduit increases and automatically bleeding air from the chamber if the pressure decreases, thus maintaining a substantially constant volume of air in the chamber even though the pressure in the conduit to which the device is attached may vary.
