摘要: Most of the internet traffic today is carried out via the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). The main advantage of TCP is that it provides reliable data transfer to the application layer and simplifies programming. The protocol maximizes data throughput but may also lead to noticeable transmission delay in wide area networks (WAN). A client-server based medical image viewing system is disclosed that achieves high data throughput over TCP without impacting responsiveness. Special timestamp messages inserted into the data stream allow the system to detect situations where network latency increases noticeably and to obtain a reliable estimate of sustained transfer bandwidth. The system applies a feedback scheme that avoids network delays by limiting send bandwidth. In addition other parameters, in particular image compression settings, are dynamically adjusted depending on current network quality.

摘要: In a rule based header compression system such as a SCHC compressor/decompressor, a controller is provided which provides “hints” to the header compression processor, so as to direct its behaviour. These hints may define new rules, modify existing rules, set state values against which rules are tested during compression, prioritise rules or exclude rules from consideration to achieve optimum compression. The controller may dynamically generate rules on the basis of learned of detected flow characteristics to achieve optimum compression. The controller may operate as a state machine, which may define states corresponding to different degrees of compression for a given flow or flow type. The system comprises multiple compressors, some or all of which may be remote from the compression processor.

摘要: Embodiments of the apparatus for modifying packet headers relate to a use of bit vectors to allow expansion and collapse of protocol headers within packets for enabling flexible modification. A rewrite engine expands each protocol header into a generic format and applies various commands to modify the generalized protocol header. The rewrite engine maintains a bit vector for the generalized protocol header with each bit in the bit vector representing a byte of the generalized protocol header. A bit marked as 0 in the bit vector corresponds to an invalid byte, while a bit marked as 1 in the bit vector corresponds to a valid byte. The rewrite engine uses the bit vector to remove all the invalid bytes after all commands have been operated on the generalized protocol header to thereby form a new protocol header.

A computing device may receive, during a currently running session with a client device, a plurality of messages. The computing device may determine, based on the plurality of messages, one or more frames. The computing device may determine, based on the one or more frames, data samples. The computing device may compress the one or more frames based on a compression dictionary. The computing device may train, during the currently running session, the compression dictionary based on the determined data samples, to create a new compression dictionary. The computing device may determine, during the currently running session and based on receiving additional messages, one or more additional frames. In addition, the computing device may compress the one or more additional frames based on the new compression dictionary.

In an embodiment, a method includes calculating a probability distribution function (PDF) for scaler data, matching the PDF to PDF templates to determine a closest matching PDF template, and selecting an encoder corresponding to the closest matching PDF template wherein a corresponding encoder identifier is determined. The method also includes encoding the scaler data with the encoder to generate an encoded stream, and transmitting the encoded stream and the encoder identifier.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, a device, and a computer program product for document transmission. The method includes: selecting a portion to be encoded from a document that comprises structured portions, wherein each of the structured portions comprises an identifier and data associated with the identifier; acquiring at least one structured portion of the portion to be encoded; performing the following operations for a corresponding structured portion of the at least one structured portion to encode the document: generating a hash value of data of the corresponding structured portion; determining whether a hash value repository comprises the hash value; and replacing, based on a determination that the hash value repository comprises the hash value, the data of the corresponding structured portion in the document with the hash value; and sending the encoded document to a receiver. This solution can reduce the bandwidth consumption of transmitting a document including structured data while ensuring that a receiver obtains required information, as well as potentially saving the storage space required by the receiver to store the received document.
