Abstract: A method for monitoring a machine element in a paper finishing machine (10). The machine element mounted for rotation machine elements (16-19) equipped with a sensor assembly (24) measuring force or pressure, and a counter-pair (15, 20, 33, 44) for said machine element. The machine element is made to rotate against the counter-pair, a measurement signal (25) is generated between the machine element and the counter-pair with the sensor assembly, and recording a reference cross-directional profile (21) of force or pressure generated. Condition monitoring (38) of vibration with the reference profile is by comparison of current signals with the reference so as to detect periodic variation (39.1, 39.2) in the cross-directional pressure profile, and producing visual information (37) from the analysis for monitoring. The invention also relates to a corresponding system, a rotating machine element for the method or the system, and a computer program product.

Abstract: The invention relates to a paper machine fabric that consists of two layers, a paper-side layer and a wear-side layer. The paper-side layer consists of the top warps (1) and at least the binding top wefts (2), which have been adjusted to form a part of the paper-side surface, and the wear-side layer consists of the bottom warps (3) and bottom wefts (4). The binding top wefts (2) have been adjusted to bind the paper-side layer and the wear-side layer together. Each binding top weft (2) is adjusted so that it forms a continuous independent yarn path.

Abstract: A cooler (144) providing gas blows and comprising at least one cooler module having at least one cooler module (41, 42, 43, 44) of the cooler (144) is curved to provide a gas turn module for turning run of the fiber web (W) from its main running direction 80-190°. The cooler (144) includes moisturizing at least one surface of the fiber web. Having a blowing zone (45, 46, 53) in which gas is blown toward a surface of the fiber web and that the cooler comprises at least one suction zone (51), in which the fiber web evaporated moisture is drawn away from the proximity of a surface of the fiber web. There are cooler modules on both sides of the fiber web. The cooler has a gas turn module located inside a curved fiber web run, which provides gas blows toward the curved fiber web during the run.

Abstract: An arrangement of a thermal device and a surface reflecting and/or scattering electromagnetic radiation in the inner part of the thermal device. A source of electromagnetic radiation is arranged at a first distance (L1) from the surface, and a detector of electromagnetic radiation is arranged at a second distance (L2) from the surface. The source is configured to emit radiation to the surface, which is reflected and/or scattered from the surface as reflected radiation. The detector receives reflected radiation; and the processing unit determines data dependent on the first and/or second distance by the emitted and reflected radiation. A wall of the thermal device has a window or aperture for emitting an optical signal from the light source to the surface. An electromagnetic distance measurement device measures the thickness or the increase in the thickness of a contamination layer from a thermal device.
