Abstract: Example communication methods and apparatus are described. One example method includes receiving a first parameter by a terminal device from a first device, where the first parameter corresponds to first wake-up signal (WUS) configuration information in at least one piece of WUS configuration information, and the first WUS configuration information includes information about a first WUS time-frequency resource. The terminal device determines the first WUS time-frequency resource based on the first parameter, and receives a first WUS from a second device on the first WUS time-frequency resource, where the first WUS is used to wake up the terminal device. In this method, the terminal device can determine the first WUS time-frequency resource based on the first parameter received from the first device, and then receive the first WUS from the second device on the first WUS time-frequency resource.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a communication method and a communication apparatus. In this application, a terminal device receives a preconfigured measurement gap MG indicated by a network device and MG status information corresponding to each CC in at least one CC after the CC is deactivated. The MG status information is activated or deactivated. In a case that M CCs in the at least one CC are deactivated, the terminal device activates or deactivates the MG based on M pieces of MG status information corresponding to the M deactivated CCs, so that the terminal device can accurately determine, based on the MG status information of the deactivated CC, whether to activate or deactivate a preconfigured MG.

Abstract: This application provides a communication method and apparatus. The method includes: A network device pre-allocates a first identifier to a terminal device. When the terminal device has a requirement for adjusting the first identifier, the terminal device may send a first message carrying first information to the network device, to request the network device to adjust the first identifier. According to the method and the apparatus in this application, the identifier of the terminal device may be flexibly adjusted.

Abstract: A communication method and an apparatus are provided. The method includes: receiving, by a terminal device, a first command sent by a network device, wherein the first command carries a first identifier, and is used to activate a first bandwidth part (BWP) indicated by the first identifier, and the first BWP is a BWP on a first component carrier (CC); and ignoring the first command when the terminal device does not support the first BWP and a second BWP being in an active state at the same time, wherein the second BWP is a BWP in the active state on a second CC, and the second CC is different from the first CC. According to the application, the terminal device may determine, based on a capability of the terminal device, to ignore an improper command, to optimize a problem of switching an active BWP in a carrier aggregation scenario.

Abstract: This application provides a fake network device identification method and a communications apparatus. An uplink message sent by a terminal device is forwarded to a first network device via a second network device. After receiving the uplink message, the first network device generates a downlink message for the uplink message, performs security processing on the downlink message based on first time information, and/or sends the downlink message to the second network device. The second network device sends, to the terminal device, the downlink message on which the security processing is performed. The terminal device performs security verification on the received downlink message, and/or identifies whether the second network device is a fake network device. This helps improve communication security.

Abstract: This application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus. The method includes: A target access network device determines that a first terminal device is handed over from a source access network device to the target access network device; and sends first information to the first terminal device, where the first information indicates a first packet header compression context, and the first packet header compression context is for compressing or decompressing a packet header of a data packet. In this application, the target access network device sends, to the first terminal device, the first information indicating the first packet header compression context, so that in a handover scenario, the first terminal device can correctly decompress a subsequently received data packet with a compressed packet header. This helps improve communication reliability.

Abstract: This application provides a radio resource control (RRC) message sending method and an apparatus. According to the method, a distributed unit (DU) determines not to start an RLC polling mechanism when sending an RRC message to a terminal device, so that when sending the RRC message to UE, the DU sets a polling bit in a header of an RLC PDU carrying the RRC message to be in an inactive state. Therefore, after receiving the RRC message, the terminal device does not feed back an RLC status report to the DU. Therefore, the terminal device does not need to initiate a random access procedure to obtain an uplink transmission resource for sending the RLC status report to the DU, thereby saving random access resources.
